Music from Australia and New Zealand in the year 1970: After a couple of copyright strikes I've decided to remove all my videos on every nzoz channel. I didn't do this to spite the subscribers and/or those who champion my channels. I did this because building these channels and facing the risk of having one account terminated has been a little stressful. I've also grown annoyed with how little material I have to show with each channel. I do understand the importance of copyright and I respect the wishes of artists and am not interested in causing violation whatsoever. However, as somebody who is passionate about archiving these videos, and displaying them in a chronological (hence; each account being based on a year) I find it disheartening and stressful having a channel being put at risk by a copyright strike. I assure you, my channels will make a come back in the future. As for now, I got a life to live.
Dont care about his "disability", the guy had the most incredible singing voice, in a way i wonder if this song has anything to do with him refusing to accept his cobstraint, what a song!!!! What a voice !!!!!
Back in the early 80's I was managing at minilab in a major shopping centre on the South Coast, N.S.W. and one day they had a spruiker going from store to store microphone in hand promoting individual specials from each store. Being the manager the spruiker approached me, placed the microphone in my face and said 'any requests' to which I replied with a very serious face 'one last kiss'. Issi stopped in his tracks, looked around, sang one or 2 lines then walked off looking over his shoulder laughing. {and he is till performing today and if you know me, you know I love my music}
this was their second single, after Dear Prudence, the third single, Without You, I can't find on You Tube. Somebody kindly upload it. These were the only 3 singles I can recall from the band. Predictably Doug Parkinson went on to a solo career, perhaps a mistake, because the 3 musicians he had around him were all first class. This was a talented band, but in the music scene, in time, most bands disband.
This was back when Record Label Companies made all the money....... and the artists got nothing!!!! The band Mungo Jerry wrote and recorded this song in 1970 and it was No:1 in Australia for 1 week. Then, somehow, the Mixtures were allowed to record it and their version followed Mungo's at No:1 for 6 weeks in Oz. Bloody Record Company shite all over Mungo!!!!!
Absolutely beautiful Liv.I love your voice ,your diction and articulation is gorgeous. Would you ever consider doing vocals on an original if I could pen something decent?
Saw Jeff St John perform this at a concert under the Southern pylon of Sydney Harbour Bridge. He was the stand out act even overshadowing Southern Contemporary Rock Assembly
I was about 14 when I saw him on GTK (Australian music segment of about 10 minutes on our ABC), and I INSTANTLY fell under his spell!!! Fast forward 50 years, and he requested my friendship on facebook, and it was really him!!! I was so thrilled!!! Unfortunately, he passed a few years after. Always adore Jeff!!
