KIPR engages middle and high school aged students in a team-oriented robotics competition based on national science education standards.
By designing, building, programming, and documenting robots, students use science, engineering, technology, math, and writing skills in a hands-on project that reinforces their learning.
KIPR also runs the Junior Botball Challenge which teaches elementary and middle school students how to program by completing challenges with robots to master STEM concepts.
Some of the functions include get_create_lcliff_amt(), get_create_rcliff_amt(), get_create_lfcliff_amt(), and get_create_rfcliff_amt(). If I remember correctly, the value returned will be somewhere between 0 and 4950. There is also some cool stuff with the bump sensors and with motor encoders, among other things built into the roomba. All of the roomba commands that KIPR made can be found in the wallaby libraries, and documentation of the roomba's many sensors can be found online if you look up the iRobot Create 2. If you were curious what an implementation of the Roomba's cliff sensing code might look like in action, albeit written in Python, here's our GitHub page for it: github.com/RockvilleRobotics/Incredibots2019/blob/master/Roomba%20Code/sensors.py
