It is a Luxor globe shape mantle and not the original Coleman one. It was pre burned and according to the specification large enough. Nevertheless, sometimes the generator gets too cold and the lantern is spitting flames after several hours of burning without problems.
First DM 10 I've seen. That engine is from the dawn of diesel time. It has two brothers in the USA, a 1903 Augsburg DM 12 in the Coolspring Power Museum and a 1910 DM 12 in the Rough and Tumble Historical Museum... both in the state of Pennsylvania. The 1910 engine is currently running and the 1903 engine soon will be. The Coolspring engine is currently the second oldest Diesel Patent engine in the USA. When it's running, it will likely be the oldest Augsburg DM series engine running in the world. They are all magnificent engines!
Very nice engine! Now, in this museum, is it possible to train others (i.e. potential volunteers) who would be interested (sucn as me) to actualy allow for to start, run and stop this machine? (Hence also being a teaching tool for inetrested parties)? (With my luck, probably not! But then I could be wrong in my assumption here!)
