We would get are mail there in the 60s and early 70s live on turner river road ,where the cement bridge is on the right going in at the time there was a wooden bridge,my grandpaw and mom and dad live on 5 acres of land, the state made use move ,took our land for 5,000.00 ,we left our swamp buggies and most of our belongings and move to South Louisiana, would catch the school bus at 4:30 am and go to Immokalee had to stay all day because we live so far, I was born at Lee Memorial in Fort Myers.
Just curious because you are so close to shore… was the boat necessary because this place is difficult to reach on foot? Any day fishing is a great day!
That's a fishing machine. I've got the 19 Cape Horn Offshore bought new in 04. Best boat on the water. None stronger and that's a fact. You will pay extra for a Cape Horn but it will outlive you. I've trailered all over Florida for 20 years and people always come up to me and say "nice boat" because it's so true. Just love it.
Thank you for your reply. Maybe I don't know what I am talking about or not explaining it correct. The copper tube that connects to the power head goes into the hole in front of the exhaust. There looks to be a copper tube in that hole that goes to the water pump. How do the two copper tubes connect below where the copper tube from the powerhead goes into the copper tube below the exhaust. Does it just slide into the lower copper tube. I don't see any connections for the two tubes. Sorry for not understanding. This is my first time with the power head off and can not find a diagram or video that shows this and want to do it right the first time. Thank you
Oh I gotcha.. it just slides into the water pump, the O ring in the water pump housing keeps it secure... once everything is back together the uptake tube has no margin for up and down movement
First time I've heard the old hull design be referred to as dry lol, great boat though. I have an 2002 17OS I'm getting repowered now. They are boats you can pass down to grandkids one day.
Better check proper function before final reassembly. After a water pump rebuild, just soak the lower unit into a bucket of water up to the pump level and turn the drive shaft with a drill : a strong and steady flow should shoot out of the pump. As for the copper tube and its top grommet, after reattaching the exhaust to the head, loosely mate a garden hose to the base of the water tube and look for a steady stream out of the engine's tell tale indicator. This last technique may also be used to flush the power head cooling passages, just remove the thermostat and its cover and debris will be flushed out that opening. By the way, I've been working with those OMC/BRP outboards for 25 years and never met a situation or heard of a so-called cooling design flaw. Regards !
Question for you. Took the powerhead off a 84 9.9 johnson. I want to make sure I put the cold water tube in correct. How does the tube from the warer pump connect to the water inlet hose from the power head? I can not find a video or diagram that shows the connection
@brianroche5631 it kinda self guides as long as the tube is straight. You can pull off the telltale hose and blow air into and feel down by the foot to see if you feel air
Great video my friend!! Looks like a fun day of kayak fishing!! I love making fishing videos too and your videos are awesome!! Keep up the great work! 🤝🔥
I am loving this film you made here. About to take a quick intermission halfway through and come back. Looks like you guys had a great holiday trip! Way cool! Nice choice of music too. It's a good fit for the footage. Thanks for sharing!
