Most companies you’ve bought products from are linked with countries that have committed war crimes. BAE Systems mostly engineer and produce arms, vehicles and aircraft to our armed forces which protect our country and our right to speak freely like yourself. If you pay taxes you’re also just feeding the system as well.
Ultimately the low level attack doctrine with gravity bombs was just too costly as demonstrated in GW1. In its last years it became a useful platform with stand off weapons like Paveway IV, Storm Shadow and Brimstone.
Yes, I remember that until the Foxhunter radar became available, the Tornado had a High Tech, ballast, probably made from high tech concrete, fitted inside its nose cone. Although, was this for all variants or just the F3 interceptor version ?

Thanks for the nostalgic reminder. RAFO Masirah was where Delta flew to Desert One. My last visit was November 2014 a week after we closed Bastion/Tombstone. I borrowed one of their prop trainers on my last day, (with RAFO instructor.)
Strand Road, in Preston, was English Electric back in the day, making the Lightning and 'Deltic' locomotives. That's where my dad started out and close to where my gran used to live! I drove round there a few years ago and didn't recognise the place.
....a failure of a project. ADV version was just sheer garbage. The RAF Alarm-equipped aircraft never destroyed a single radar site. The IDS, well after 6 days of getting spanked all over Iraq, they had to do a stand down and ultimately adopt the proven US tactics (stay high, use your smart bombs).....except the RAF Tornado's had no illumination capability. Just an all around piece of garbage. Imagine what the well-trained RAF crews could've done instead with a fleet composed of F15's and F15E's!!!!!
According to pilots once the F3 was fully upgraded they swept the floor with F15s from BVR. The IDS completed its job and was the only aircraft capable of doing the job. Some were shot down but it was obviously a very dangerous mission flying over airfields in broad daylight to take out runways. Without the IDS the air threat to other aircrafts would have been higher....
Just look at out aviation history......there are lots more. TSR2 , Miles M52, Concorde, Harrier, Buccaneer, Typhoon, Dehavelland Comet, (If it only had round windows we would be ahead in the game) BAE systems and Rolls Royce are the main contributors to the flying machine itself, However the successive governments have sold us down the river. I know its really expensive to make these machines but we are good at it. If only the government idiots, could see passed the short term. They even messed up Frank Whittles engine then scrapped it. By the way I do totally agree. EE lightning was phenomenal.
@@grimbo930charlyboy4 Military comets had round windows and you missed the Hawk, Mosquito, Spitfire, Lancaster, .............. there's along long list, but you are right, the EE Lightning was awesome !
