Cycle Vlog These videos will show my experiences, trips, adventures & reviews. Being an average guy, I'm interested in how to save money, how to become a better cyclist while having fun & getting out on my bike
Please email me with any questions, queries, sponsorships, trips & thoughts regarding both the bike & 3 min vlogs. I'm always keen to collaborate - new collaborations are on their way soon!
Nice!! How has it been treating you months later? How was switching to a Mustang bridge? Did you have to switch steing gauges or shim the neck at all? I've been wanting to get an offset for a while and have been eyeing the Vintera IIs and Japanese ones haha Just hard to choose between the Jazzmaster, Mustang, and Jaguar
If I hadn't own my japanese Jag, I would buy this one, cos for the wonderfull color and the unique neck. But would modify the parts, that aren't good on any jag like the bridge or the tremsystem. Also add the string mute. I love the different tonalities the jag can have🙂
@@Cyclingsucks The Jag sounds so different in comparison with a Tele or a Strat and I like the weird shrilly tone the guitar got including the basscut😃
@@sovka8394 yeah man. Mustang bridge in. I was going to change some switches. But I’m kinda used to it now. I will put a tele style switch blade in a some point! Just changed the strings too. Not sure what comes on it (probably 10s) But I’ve slapped some 11s on
Well done Sir you've got my subscription ( I KNOW NOT EXACTLY THE RECORDING CONTRACT YOU DESERVE ) but many thanks from an old man, you absolutely nailed it and you made my day a lot better have a wonderful week. PEACE AND LOVE TO EVERYONE ❤❤.
Love the colorway! I recently built up an Allez in the same color, Tubeless on 32s. I may have to do a Video on it as well. The Corsa Pro is my fav tire as well. Super clean and dope build! #RobbArmstrong
im interested how the paintjob will be holding up. I had a icebreak red painted 168 and the paint chipped on multiple points with minor contact. Maybe i was just unlucky, hope yours will hold up better.
The zipp service course cx bartape is pretty sweet and affordable and I’m pretty sure msw makes an almost carbon copy of it for even cheaper! Good stuff.
@@PatrickLinook, In 268... But what i was mentioning is your setup on 177 with that FSA headset to Run the cables inside... Not full hide cables but they can go inside.
Happy to see you finished (kinda) the build and were able to ride it already! Given everything you experienced with the frame from build to first ride - would you still buy it again?
Thanks! It’s been good! I wish I had a bit better skills. But that was suppose to be what this was about! Of course yeah! Had it not been for the lack of tools I would’ve done the last bit myself. Rides great too
You can learn a lot about a bike on a windy day. They are all ok on calm days. Like you, I am no fan of integrated cockpits. Simple enough to change though. Looking good....
Roval c38 with Pirelli p zero race 30mm 75psi , Roval clx with turbo cotton ltd 28mm 80-82 psi on tarmac sl7 . The 30mm Pirelli is lighter than my 28 turbo cotton , both using tpu tubes . Both roll extremely good but turbo cotton better at cornering at speed 👍
@@Cyclingsucks yes I have a couple of pairs in tan wall and also the limited edition cottons which have black walls but still cotton casing which you can’t buy anymore . To be honest you can’t go far wrong with any of the top tier tyres nowadays.
Been there, took me days to figure it all out. In my case the major issue turned out to be a couple of issues: At first I was using the wrong bolts. Did not realize the shifter bolts (to hose) were different from the caliper bolts (connection to hose). After getting that sorted the next issue was it turned out the reason I could not tighten the bolt (left shifter) was because I needed to have the shifter (where the hose attaches) rethreaded. All works well now. Next mission is to shorten my stem to get my fit better. They really need to make this all easier Perhaps a screw in adapter that sits in the stem, which would allow you to more easily make adjustments without having to cut the hose
I’ve washed my hands with it for now. Just wanna get it finished. I’ve got some other bits to do on my purple bike too! So will be sure to bleed the brakes on that. Frustrating when you don’t have all the stuff!
Hydraulic disc brakes require a whole new skill set. I have those skills, but oh how I wish mechanical discs had more development. Cables beat hydraulics in terms of everyday simplicity every time.
Vittoria Rubino Corsa Control 2.0 30mm with Ridenow TPU tubes running at around 5 bar, with a total system weight of around 112kg. Can't complain for now, very comfortable - maybe a bit bouncy when I try to accelerate.
28s at 60psi with Ridenow TPU tubes from AliExpress. Early Ridenow TPU tubes were a bit unreliable re the valves but they fixed that late summer last year. Now hold pressure WAY better than latex. Continental Ultra Sport tyres. Used to run GP 5000 but found them too fragile. Ultra sport gives almost the same ride feel and great wet grip for a fraction of the cost and way better puncture/sidewall protection.
160 crank length is uber short - how you getting on with them. Positives vs negatives? I ride 170 but thinking about getting 165. Would be interested in your viewpoint.
Yeah man. Short. But the Allez sprint is quite an aggressive position. So having shorter (than 165mm) is great. Cadence has gone up & I can spend more time in the drops. Personally I don’t think you’ll regret going to 165 🤘🏼
Been following your videos on the Velobuild 268. I'm going to get one as well. Just curious, how much filing do you have you do for the calliper mounts? Do you have to retread the mounts like the bottle cages or calliper mount as well? Lastly, are the BB and wheel dropouts true?
Hi. I haven’t done any filing yet. But I would advise finding somewhere to get them faced. No issues with threads. Wheels are all good. BB needed a little bit of sanding down. As there was excess paint 👍🏼
