following your unstruction is impossible. You dont explain what you are doing. when you are creating the patches you do a bunch of quick steps but dont explain what your doing, you joined the surfaces?? but you called them sheets?? and you dont show what your joining, and it is obviously important because the patch command wont complete.g
Surfaces are called sheets in Plasticity. By selecting sheets - two ways of doing that: enclose all with a left drag over all sheets or right drag touching all sheets and then press 'J' to join. Having viewed many many Plasticity videos on RU-vid you won't find a more instructive set of videos than those offered by Nikita. If you can't follow these videos the problem is possibly with you not the instructor, but perhaps you just have a problem understanding somebody whose native language is not English, which is not really an uncommon thing. I was fortunate enough to grow up in a household where there were a number of not native speaking visitors so don't have this problem. I'd say stick with Nikita's videos and you'll learn a great deal about surface modeling. BTW I'm not one of his paying customers, but from what I see his paid videos get some great results.
@@Argyll9846 I can understand him just fine, when selecting just the sheets and running the join command it fails with "faces are not from the same body error
when creating the second curve pressing the shift key at the lower point does nothing, no purple line appears to snap to. also, when i try and create the project curve curve command i get an "unknown error"???
1:11:50 it's a very beginning but I'm already crying because 1:08:04 is literally me for past 5 years. Learning Plasticity is one of these senseless decisions and I'm grateful you released this video on this channel.
at 09:00. are there no way to select from the solid list on the side bar, and make the effect of fillet or extrude? it seems a little time consuming to select all the bodys, one by one by hand. or the faces when we are to do the fillet. since we can select from the list to do other things. love your videos Btw.
Hey Nikita. I found an interesting modeling concept that might be helpful in this scenario ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-IadxozjcqcY.htmlsi=-4kv3yUVeA3dK4Xq Skip to 10:49
Excellent video, very important information. Many years ago, I went to school and graduated with a BS in Atmospheric Science. Then I never applied for a job, I just played video games for a couple years. Then I went back to school and got a BS in Mechanical Engineering. I got a job and absolutely hated it. Now I have all this knowledge in math, physics, computer science, and SOME 3D modeling, and I don't know what the hell to do with it. I definitely don't want to work for a large company. So, anyway, this video is probably one of his most important. I'm still trying to figure this sh## out, so I'll try to use this approach and see what happens. Of course I've been somewhat aware of this kind of thinking, but laying it out in an organized manner definitely helps the process.
If you say, that you have a lot of knowledge, than maybe start to share it and teach people. There will be hundreds/thousands who could learn something from you. In my opinion YT is the best way to monetize educational knowledge.
Your 3d hair dryer model is in frot of reference image. It seems to be opaque when looking from the side. But when looking from the front view it is partially transparent. How. Thank you for you reply.
Hello Nikita! I can confidentially say I'm proficient in Plasticity now but the only weak side I have is lofts and xNurbs, I saw your course for the camcorder, will it teach lofting and xnurbs?
Hi Jakob, good to hear that you feel confident in Plasticity! First of all, there is no way to "teach" xNURBS. xNURBS is just a better way to loft and patch. So one has to learn first the basics of lofting and patching to get use out of xNURBS. The action cam course covers lofts' fundamental techniques. You can also use xNURBS while taking the course to get even better results. It will teach you what you need. You can enroll in the course and see if it fits your needs. Please feel free to write to me a quick message if you are not satisfied with the course, and I will refund you. Thanks and enjoy!
