I think there is a fish advisory on

I believe there is now, yes. There wasn't when we filmed this video. The river was actually about a foot or two higher than normal when we went.

You need a battery box you can secure it down in ......Cheap protection ...
@fishonalberta
@fishonalberta 3 дня назад
You know, we've actually talked about that. Also on the old battery I had velcro on the bottom to help keep it stable. I forgot to apply it on the new battery. But, we have definitely discussed a box or something.

I had to comment on your choice of seat cushion , the white polyethylene foam ! I found out about it's properties one day when I sat on a piece of it... Your a wise man , with a warm butt and that's a comfy thing on a cold day ...Kudos.

Did you catch any using the floating line while trolling??? Fly very close to the surface?? Any other working fly beside the hot spot PT?? enjoyed the vid,
@fishonalberta
@fishonalberta 15 дней назад
Yes, almost all of the fish were caught while trolling at a slow speed and pulling 2 nymphs. They were probably just inches below the surface. Due to the excessive weeds, I was reluctant to use the sink line. I had used a BH Prince Nymph, and had 2 fish take that, but the majority took the Hotspot Pheasant Tail Nymph. It could have been because it was the trailer fly at the bottom. Who knows. But it worked. Thanks for watching!

I often think the drive between Nanton and Chain Lakes to be one of the best scenic drives in the Foothills
@fishonalberta
@fishonalberta 15 дней назад
You are not wrong. I know there are times where we could take a shorter path, but we're always drawn to that section, and go out of our way sometimes just to drive it. Definitely no shortage of views along HWY 533.

Living in Eastern Canada and being an active and traveling fly fisher I've been aware of the Livingstone and several other nearby streams since the 1990s .. There are few secrets when it comes to trout water. Most of the disclosure is in the AB provincial fishing regulations not here on YT.

The last couple times I've been on the trunk road or the Crowsnest, it just hasn't been fun. Very few fish, hot and hardly any water. I won't be going back any time soon. The good old days are a thing of the past. I think the Crow may have been hammered by whirling disease.
