My daughter spent k-4th grade at her school never made it past double digit addition and never passed her cvs and phonics part of ELA I pulled her out of public school and in a matter of 2 weeks she taught herself pemdas and solving algebra in 5th grade …… My child let me know she can’t learn in the public school setting She asked to come home However . She is struggling transitioning from public school where she never had to answer and now she is the only one schooling in our home so she has to demonstrate knowledge
I was illiterate until I was 43 and I’m 43. I spent the last 2 years of the pandemic teaching myself to read. My child is 10 and barely is entering 2ns grade reading. My children are under illiterate because the schools won’t educate them and I could not teach them to read. So now that I’m learning to read my daughter reading is improving
I wish I could pull my girls out. They learn so much more from me. I teach them beyond their leveled curriculum. I don't talk to my kids a certain way also. The other day my daughter's teacher told her to stop lollygagging. She didn't know what that meant. Teachers talk to kids so loosely not realizing that you can't clump all kids together.
In my state of NH homeschoolers are a bit sparse... there aren't a lot of good quality homeschool co-ops, either. We finally found a good one that we go to once a week. Three days is a lot! I've never heard of one meeting that frequently, but that's really cool! We went to one that only met one day every other week and that just wasn't enough for my daughter.

My five year old is begging me to take him to school but I started him on k12 kindergarten I feel there is some progress with his schooling and I have more control over his impulsive adhd behavior. Btw I love the pajamas you give them every year so cute.
My child is still very sweet and I simply won’t let her spend time with my sister’s children because I don’t want for her to be influenced by her lil terrorists.
