A compilation of short. (sometimes long if the fishing was good!), videos of my fishing adventures here in the UK, and in Thailand. Quite lighthearted stuff, odd mild swearing when a fish gets away, but generally, all good family viewing for all ages who enjoy watching fishing videos.
Enjoyed that. A couple of lovely carp. Well done. Pity that Cormorant has found the lake because they tell each other and next week there will be 2,3 or 4 of them.
@@scotthumphris7062 a “Tinny” is basically a blob, but with a lead head to make it sink fast. Cheese is the colour, like and orangey yellow colour. You can buy them at any tackle shop, or on EBay. Here’s a good link for them from my local tackle shop: www.reelsport.co.uk/page2.html
Was up there yesterday lad showed us a pic of. 20lb pike he caught off dam wall. Last year.. not much got caught part from 1 jack. Well worth a visit just started fly fishing im a keen sea angler but had my head turned to fly
@@leefletcher660 it’s probably the worst place to fly fish, just too big and sometimes hard to find the fish. You should try Knitsley Mill near Consett or Sharpley Springs near Seaham if you want to catch a few!
@@Skull6Mask Hi there! That’s a difficult question, as it can change day by day, and lake by lake. Buzzers tend to take more fish than just about any other fly, particularly Wicked White, or Daiwl Bach’s. If there’s a good rise on (Albert and Alice lake always has fish rising), try CDC, Daddies, Parachutes or Shuttlecocks. Fishing Cheese blobs under the bung works well on most lakes, particularly on The Noose (smallest lake, very deep). Black & Chartreuse Dogs Bollocks rarely fails on the Hangman’s lake (dry fly and nymph only-no indicators allowed). It’s really a lottery., no two days are ever the same. Ask Ian the bailiff when you go, or indeed any of the regular lads that fish there and are all helpful. Tight Lines! 🎣
@@Skull6Mask the fishery doesn’t sell flies, better off buying off EBay or similar, loads for sale on there with quick delivery. Get yourself some Blue Flash Damsels too, work well at all times of year.
When you say "in the lilies" is your bait actually in the lilies or right on the edge? To be "in the lilies" I assume is the bait is totally encasing the hook? Top fishing by the way...
@@SausageSurprise nope, just hooked in the crust, cast on top of the lily pads and carefully drag it over the edge. Gets stuck in the lily pads 50% of the time, but that’s where the fish hang out! Even 6” away is too far, they are very shy of coming out from under the lily pads.look for gaps between the pads and try to get your bread into them. VERY annoying though, once the smaller fish find it, they smash it off the hook in seconds. Be patient, look for “slurping” Carp and target the pads they are feeding under.
@@SettingTheHookUK when I see one with my own eyes, only then will I believe it. 34 Carp in 7 visits this year suggests there’s not many over 10pounds if I ain’t caught one😂 SO many guesstimating doubles which are actually 8 pounders.
Remember guys. Please make sure you pay before fishing .pay at golf lodge up the hill across the main road. .anyone caught not paying will be asked too leave and you may have your fishing tackle confiscated..and prosecuted. .. thankyou laurence Hunter. For showing your fishing adventures to the group.
Done a bit research, lot of fish similar size to Strawberry Fields, but some big ones. Looks a bit open and featureless? Seen a lot of people saying they’d blanked. Still maybe give it a try, but not really my kind of fishery. I like small and with features to fish by.
@@LolsFishingAdventures has a main island m8, and yes it can be very hitty miss, it is a hard lake tbh, pending on conditions, some days are glorious, then the next blankerty blank for days pal
I reckon I caught that same mirror on Sunday...Had 2 decent Commons too @ around 5 &6 lb - very blustery and a bit of wind chill that I wasn't expecting
Very possible. I’m just back from a 5 hour session, had 10!! 8lb,2x7,lb 6lb,5lb, 4lb,2x3lb and 2x2 pounders. Great day, windy and cooler didn’t put them off. Best session I’ve ever had there. Video live later tonight.😊
@@LolsFishingAdventures Brilliant - can't wait to see the 10 pounder. I got snapped at the hook by one, maybe it was the 10 pounder ha ha. That hook was hand tied by me, so only myself to blame! Eyed size 12 but whipped the 8lb trace around the shank like a spade - never failed me before.
@@phildean8797 7.30 till 5pm. Pay at Sharpley golf club about 200 yards up the road from the lake. £7 a day. You’ll love it there Phil, best fish are right at your feet, ideal for the whip!
@@pondguru thank you! Must admit, it surprised me to get one in double figures, (especially on light Trout gear!😲). There’s huge amount of fry for them to feed on, plus an odd trout, no doubt. They’ll keep growing and we’ll have a lot of 20 pounders in a few years time hopefully.🤞
@@LolsFishingAdventures 100% and they will be a sight to behold. As it's around 20 years since the parents went into the reservoir (I wouldn't know anything about that....) they will probably be gone by now but to see their offspring being caught and looking so beautiful is great to see. All the bait fish are creating a self sustaining ecosystem and it's great to see so many diverse fish species in there now. Years ago there was only stocked trout, a few wild trout and the very occasional grayling.
@@williamcosgrove9696 I find that hard to believe. Where do you find vast numbers of pike to transport secretly? Much more likely they got there via natural means in my opinion. Like you said, bailiffs don’t know who or why, they obviously don’t know for sure either way, these fish were there well before lockdown I reckon. Just my humble opinion. We shall never know for sure!
@@LolsFishingAdventures They were 100% there before 2020 and nobody has introduced masses of pike (or perch) in the reservoir - they bred naturally from a very small initial stocking, building up their numbers (and size) in line with the population of bait fish. Now that there is a fully sustainable food chain in the reservoir the pike are the top predators (other than fishermen, lol)
@@pauljohnsontwonoviceangler6170 probably get worse before it gets better, hot weather cometh! I’ll be sticking to Carp and an odd Pike trip till the weather cools a bit.
Depends whether you’re talking about permit prices (very cheap), or tackle required (very expensive!) You don’t need to go overboard with tackle, just start with the basics and build slowly. Day tickets are anywhere from about £5 a day (you also need a Rod License for anywhere in England).
