Maybe for us who cannot watch full 3 h video maybe you could show in beginning or end of the video so we can check at every time whats your current set up 😝 I did abo u and hope for more mxl content soon with the neat 2.10 patch what seems like a very nice patch allready bringing us back a good ammount of new builds with the new o skill gloves and ofc still so nice with the angelics if they do not change/ nerf it. Idk man, i'm not really getting any feedbacks nor viewers for Mxl, it's now more like casual playthroughs. I'm burned out :/ Other thing is I'm busy on twitch tryna hit affiliate, which is almost achieved in like 2 days
If you do a quick search, the original HU mod by Soulmancer will be the first link you will need, there it'll explain the installation. Make sure D2 is 1.10, and u can easily download it from torrent sites.
@@deathseraph2121 For some reason you assumed I haven't done research. I did, and yet I found it confusing. Do I need D2SE? Where do I get a game that I can downgrade to 1.10? 1.14 is undowngradble from what I've read. I also tried changing HE 2.5 to 1.3 and it does not seem to work.
Problem is you'll need a separate D2 with version 1.10. On piratebay it's 100% up there with v1.10. HU 1.21 vs 2.5 are tremendously different as both use different mod "core". I dont use D2SE but it could work with it as well. @@deathseraph2121 It's actually easier said than done. Any Diablo 1.10 requires CD to install, even with daemon tools. Now I need to figure out how I downgrade to version 1.10 which is also not exactly clear based on google instructions. What a headache for what seems like simple operation. Not boomer friendly.
@@deathseraph2121 Can you please make more tutorial videos on how to mod legacy Diablo 2? Especially ones related to changing the hard coded stuff like strafe damage or adding chance to get lifesteal on critical strike?

@deathseraph2121 Can you please explain how I can add different effects to a skill on hitting a monster? I want to add chance for Open Wounds to Amazon's Impale skill. But I am not able to make it work as a passive since other unrelated skills also trigger open wounds (even default attack) which is too OP. I also am not able make it work via aurastat as well.
What I know about OW stat is it's somewhat nasty due to hard coded nature. And I was thinking what would be possible alternative for OW that could similarly cause the mob's health to degen either overtime or for a couple of seconds. Maybe try out making it as a passive skill that has a chance to proc a curse that degens %life in a small radius only on melee whilst having the skill Impale. But problem would persist for other melee skills (Jab) or even normal attack to proc this curse, so you can either disable the cross build once u put point into into Impale but cant put into for example Elemental Javelin skills anymore. I gotta test this thing out so I'm not sure about this it'll work but we got alternatives we can still use. Lemme know if you made any progress!
@@deathseraph2121 The reason why I want to do this with Impale is that it would be a better skill overall compared to now. I am trying to create a mod that rebalances skills of all characters and on my list Amazon is the first both alphabetically as well as having skills that have a lot of potential but balanced terribly that they are either OP (Charged Strike) or underwhelming (all physical damage skills like Jab, Strafe etc) so that most skills will be viable to use at some stage of the game. I am not able to see any field in Skills.txt that is referenced in modding sites like phrozen keep where I can apply a state to a monster on melee hit. There are options to do this for auras, passives and even missiles but simply not for physical melee hit. Neither are there any comprehensive references to server and client side function numbers as to what exactly each number does. Also a side question. Why did you stop making these videos? I found your content only now but the modding videos you did are very few and the last one was more than a year ago. Is everything all right?
Sadly I just feel pointless to do content as I was struggling to get followers for 4 years and then it passed too much time that my scheduled sub goal is still lightyears away. I'd certainly do more of this content but the problem is very much like youtube's awful recommendation system. I saw some one did similar content (with greater community), but the aforementioned person's content made it push it lower mine so none will realise in the search that I'm doing D2 Modding content as well. If u got any ideas what to showcase in a maybe-future-video just lemme know
@@deathseraph2121Yeah I agree it would be quite rough for D2 legacy modders especially since the introduction of D2 Resurrected. It has some similarities but some differences as well and does not apply to our regular D2 LoD. Even the most popular D2 modders only have few thousands of subscribers. My ideas for a possible future videos that I would like to see would be: 1) Explanations of srvdo, srvfunc, cltdo, cltfunc function numbers in Skills.txt 2) Creation of new skills but combining existing mechanics like creating a patch of ground that deals poison damage as long as unit stands on it 3) Modifying how existing skills work and make them refer to more parameters for damage calculation. For example, magic arrow is stuck at 20% base physical dmg of weapon at lvl 20 and there's no way to change this number anywhere in either skills.txt or missiles.txt. 4) Addition of item only effects to a certain skill like slow monster, prevent monster heal etc 5) How to add item effects unique to a particular player state (like one effect for Werewolf form and another for Werebear form) Also is it possible to upload these tutorial videos in phrozen keep? Most aspiring modders refer to that site anyway and I think this kind of video tutorial might catch the attention of a lot more ppl than here in youtube.

Surprised people still play median XL I played this way back in the early 2000s. I wish d2r would allow modding like fallout or skyrim. He'll Hellfire, median XL, and PD2 are great mods.
Well you can somewhat do mod for D2r, but you cannot accomplish the hardcode stuff like boss hp bar or lockout thing from median xl. Although the softcode part (monsters, skills, items etc) are still possible.
As a D2 LOD veteran, and PD2+PoD amateur, I have absolutely no idea what is going on right now with this build, but I'm interested! Might give Median XL a try

Why can't I see a complete site for dealing with MPQ on the Internet? 1. unpacking the game archive 2. editing tables accordingly (as shown in the video). 3. packing the archive. And preferably with a complete visual guide where to click.
Sorry about the major missing steps before you can start your modding. Btw that video is in work in progress so dont worry it'll be out within a few days. In short what you need to do is search for the MPQ extractor: www.zezula.net/en/mpq/download.html (click on up-to-date version 4.0.0 eng) With this now you have access to the game's archive files. As for editing the txt files heres what you need to download: d2mods.info/forum/viewtopic.php?t=63847 Once you got it, right click on any txt file (skills.txt, monstats.txt etc) open with -> Afj Table editor. The last thing you need is for entry strings, to see newly added monster names, skill desc stuff to your custom mod. d2mods.info/forum/viewtopic.php?t=15454 With this now you can open the tbl (table) files with ease. Unfortunetely packing the modded stuff for me it is not working, so I am still using the -txt -direct -w method. There is surely an easy way how to pack the whole mod with ease. Need to figure out what elemental damage based is the black Mephisto missile that the Spider Overseers cast, those what they killed me non stop and even now as well, maybe need a guide on what to pay attention for

Yep he still got his hostility on death, but lots of people just underestimate him bcz of that ability. Although, the summon is really decent if you got the knowledge how to make them much tankier, more powerful and so on. (If you watch Kabraxis, evem though summons died quickly, only Veil King was worth to use for bossing.) Other than that Jinn is not viable cuz it's for the elemental skills (i. e. Totemmancer), and Rathma's chosen used to be used for weapon based builds (Xbow, melee).
the last playable patch was 1.21 which Soulmancer made. All natural damage is increased like fire, psn etc. This new patches after Soulmancer is a bullshit.
I'm somewhere at this stage too, and shrine crafted staff (that shrine with mana/mana regen) and blessed with tainted. Finally it turned out not bad +9 nec, some mana / 15%regen, and ~90 minion dmg. Now got around 5,8k dmg ^^
That's great, I'm still nowhere cuz tainted is not dropping at all, maybe in the next part all trade to somebody some junk shrines. And then hopefully I could defeat the stupido Lvl 2 Riftwalker.. 🤔
@@deathseraph2121 i play summon necro and maxed ske and knight for reward skill I use veilking it tank well but my minion dmg is only around 220% and take alots of time to clear mod also boss battle in 115 uber is a pain since my minion just die over and over only veil king can tank prince bull
Speaking of Dying. It's always the first choice to mo your gear with minion res to 75%. And after you can focus on either dmg or life. And also search for useful runewords, craft with honorafic items, or even with tainted shrine crafted items.
Are you following any build guides on the Forum? Maybe they'll serve you with more hidden information that you're apparently struggling with. But I can say is farm for useful SU items in the Jungle Uber, and of course if you're minions deal enough dmg, you could farm K3k too. Mine minions are weak as well, maybe because I'm not having the right stuff or I'm missing something important so far.
Yep this build is still viable to play in the current update. Otherthan ubers and skill setup, my build guide is still useable for item setup (rw are not anymore)
