I think that you could possibly build a smaller structure that isn't ready removable and live in that. Treat the removable structure as a shed. That way you should be within the laws. And also work on making the removable structure more permanent. Maybe put a concrete wall around the base of the removable structure. Plant shrubs and stuff around the structure making it NO longer removable. Build an add on section altering to structure, there again making it NOT look like a removable structure. That's a couple or three ideas that may help. Making it look like a permanent structure. A concrete wall that surrounds the structure would infact make the structure less ready removable and more permanent. Good luck with your journey and hopefully my ideas might spark some creative work arounds.
You own no property, slaves can't own property. Read the Deed to the property that you think is yours. You are listed as a Tenant. (Senate Document 43, 73rd Congress 1st Session)
Tennessee is notorious for this. I built a tiny home in my backyard in 2016. I had to use hurricane straps to even get the electric company to come out and inspect the electrical work (Duck River Electric TVA). Another excuse they used is they had an electrical feed line running over the top of my property to my neighbor that cut my backyard in half. It was a back and forth and I asked, what if I wanted to build a swimming pool? I couldn't because of that electrical line. Fast forward and Duck River tells me that a fix is me paying to put in another electrical pole and moving my neighbors power line. I tried to get help from my local politicans and they could do nothing. Eventually I found out the truth and it came all down to a push by contractors, developers, real estate companies, and manufactured home builders to keep tiny homes out of Tennessee. A little further down the rabbit hole was the huge influx of people from California and other more open minded states coming to Tennessee are more likely to take an approach of tiny home / home steading. I am very sorry you all are going through this and just know that all of us from Tennessee are not like this and welcome all from outside this beautiful state.
With everything one hears of about Mexico, the Cartels, armed Banditos, etc. , when you mentioned that you traveled around Mexico, it actually gave me a shock ! And I couldn't help think how lucky you where to get out of Mexico alive ! Although it is becoming problematic, I wondered if you were on the Baja California side ? While in the Military, myself and Two others drove some Two Hundred miles South of the Border, and spent the weekend ! Walked around town, bought souvenirs, etc., all without incident ! That was in the Seventies ! Although the Federales walked the streets with AK - 47's, we were never approached ! Would I do it today.....? No ! Probably not ! As a matter of fact, Hell No ! 😂🤣😂 Congratulations and may GOD BLESS YOU ! 👍😉
Hi guys, i just found your video and would like to know how much money one needs to acquire a property like yours. I'm looking for a place to homestead and do Permaculture too. I think if you'd make some solid foundation and put the house on it so it's not a removable structure and also gets you a whole new level and space you can utilize... also check out how the law is treating removable structures like tents, jurts or geodesic domes to get an idea of whats allowed and whats prohibited.
I would be interested in what septic system you have or will decide upon and why. A Perc test is around $1200. And seemed fairly easy to run a test one yourself though it requires an official with documentation for the official version. Seemed like alot of options for many different system designs out there. :)
Own the land should be able to do what you want on it and to it as long as you take care of the property and not turn it into a dump. Buy land pay property taxes government over reaching because it’s no longer public land it’s private property
Another thing you might want to try out there is Gold Prospecting as the price is up $2300 / oz. and 1.0 oz. isn't very much. We have a Pamphlet we have to take with us when prospecting f/ DNR. There's YT stuff on how to read the Rivers and stuff. And then there is Leather Crafting.
Speaking of winter. I think you should check to see if you are in the Ice Storm Belt. And if you are or know you are make appropriations for that. I think you guys are probably aware of what an Ice Storm is they are not that often to be like yearly but do happen every few yrs. The Physics id the rainfall is below the temperature of freeze point 0 C ot 32 F and when the Supercooled water impacts something it then freezes into a solid it's on the net. However, they can be quite damaging to many things. Even structures that are properly engineered. Again I leave the research to you. I Bid Good Skill, as we can never rely on luck. Ever in Engineering.
That looks better at least you got a Camper. MS Weather app goes out months so you could try to use it to predict months in advance. If you need a job you might consider Forest Service of some kind they are hiring. A Drafting Cert. should only take 1 yr. and then you'll learn how to design alot and how things are done in Engineering and meet some Engineers along the way or work with some that can really help you along. And the pay is above average unskilled. Or you may consider temp work as they tend to suck but will usually part with $20/hr for most contract temp jobs. Then you can be home if you want. If one wants school then one works while the other goes through and vice versa. At least your a team. I'm willing to bet your shed does not have any insulation for winter months. I leave the research to you. That falls under the MEP Engineering category of HVAC. You may want to do something for that. I guess you could continually buy RV's or Trailers after they run down or wear out. It is inevitable that things will break, fail or need occasional repair. Well at least your a team you have that can be a leg up. Nobody want to wait for me to finish 10 yrs of school before I make a move on anything. I do plan along the way though.
Hi. So I consider myself a off cycle xfer student, of Physics. 1) Ditch the shed or leave it and use it properly as a shed only. 2) As soon as you can afford it, assuming you own the land you might consider a prefab or single or 2x wide on it. There are some that look like wood. There are some that look like wood and are quite nice. I wasn't going to comment being in the middle of my studies which arern't related much beyond basic forces and some engineering stuff. Slow down. The bigger the hurry you are in to build the less you will have and more you will get taken no matter where in the Globe you are. Plan, plan, plan and then plan again. As a drafter it is a or is supposed to be a back and forth. With everything. Even a deck and your County, State or Local should have at least recommended best practices on those too. Ya know slip on it knock yourself out bear nearby it's over. Houses have codes are built to codes and standards for safety. And your by passing that. If nothing else understand you are by passing the code that keep you safe. Like Ground Fault Interrupters and Seismic stuff. Structural Electrical Piping I leave with this ask yourself can a toilette explode ? You bet you ass it can. If you can't build buy. Also on that you'll probably want a foundation the different types I leave to you to research. Also you are going to have to go to the bathroom, right ? Are you sewer hooked up or something else ? How does the land drain which way does the water go when it rains, does it flood ? Will your foundation be high enough or will it swamp and water damage is not fun. Then you get mold and bugs and breathing problems. Now there are some used trailers you can get at whatever price you are comfortable with. Then you can proceed on that. GFI - stands for Ground Fault Interference which shuts off the power if it's going through you to the ground (physical ground). You want that if possible. Arch is split into these fields Structural Electrical Piping Civil - Land I do Parts and PCBs so it not really my field. I will say again the codes are there for safety thing we've discovered that hard way over time like eating the wrong berries. So you don't have too. lol. Someone else did it. I know it's expensive I'm facing same thing that's why I'm doing another degree.
Same in Australia and England - you need to make sure your land’s zoning is right to build a tiny home on your block. Councils are idiots and have no idea what’s going on. You shouldn’t have put anything on RU-vid and just kept quiet. You were too honest. If you hadn’t pursued it, you’d have gotten away with it.
Take the state to court get a lawyer. It is not reasonable to expect anybody to see their very hidden information. Get a state senator or representative as your advocate. You also could’ve built it using your own wood, which would not have been stamped, wood that you took down on your own property and they would never have known.
My daughter invited me to move on to their 10 acres and I am so happy to be moving to Tennessee! I came out for a month and a half and really love it! Can't wait to get to know all the adventures in the area. She lives in the southeast side of Tennessee with less tornadoes 🤞
Most likely they’re under law of land , these people are obviously not going to reep what they sow . Also built by your own hands means built using your own hands. They way settlers did not to many people can claim ,”I BUILT THAT”.!!
Pay your taxes, and do what you want on your property! I live on the border of Kentucky and Tennessee. 1000s do this. They just want to control you and milk you for money… Your land do what you want.
