Mr. Harden, you are a scholar and a gentleman. I was trying to figure out how to bring Back Up Lamp Supply Volts to my back up camera. My Head Unit ahs all the bells and whistlese but I was perplexed as to the interface. The Lt/Grn ( think lime ) wire is easily seen once you showed me where to look. Fair Winds and Following Seas my friend. If you're not a Swabbie, that just means Good Luck and God Bless. NOTE: Mine is a 2003 Silverado. I have upgraded to a 21st century head unit and back up camera. 😁😎
leave as is or there's also a kit that replaces the complete radio at a much higher expense . the kit in this video is maybe around $40 the link below kit closer to $350 puts the aftermarket radio in the same location as original
what camera harness did you use? most likely would plug in behind glove box and a trigger from other location is also required. will also only work with vehicle running @@hectorrdrgzz
Hey man! Just wondering if this kit kept the factory climate controls on the factory navigation screen? I'm thinking of buying this myself and not sure if it would keep that
I have a 4105L installed in my 2011 canyon. when I use the remote start when my doors are in the lock position my truck will start but the horn alarm goes off until I unlock the door
you have a install or programming related issue on this install. a shop with knowledge to make the truck disarm before start needs to address the issue, or may just unlock, then start and that may keep from waking the neighborhood . best of luck
metra electronics online has a great application chart per vehicle that should give the part # for the harness, antenna adptr, and dash kit needed for your year of liberty
You wouldn't happen to be able to help me with my project? My car came without the factory sub I inquired all the factory sub equipment but instead of just swapping out the harness I have depended all the wires I need from the sub plugs up to the main connections it's just the wiring colors are different and im lost now
I dont think you'll have any luck utilizing an original amp with this particular situation. best bet would be to do an aftermarket amp to power the sub you found.
most likely would of grabbed it at the sub location assuming it has one, or could grab it behind radio or even at each front spkr location in the lower dash
3:33 , I have a grey cable in 61, does that mean I don’t need to run a wire to it from my factory cruise control switch I got at the junk yard ? I just need to wire the switch at the steering column harness. ? I know I still need to run the pink ingnition wire to the pink ignition at the BCM
Yes, actually everything was there at the column, I hooked it up and I have cruise power and all the buttons work. So all I need to do now is go to Chevy and have it programmed?
Hey there Kyle I just got a car stereo place too do a Install ON my 2010 ram 1500 Im all honesty The radio install it self was fine But I do have thos brackets and I do have the gaps Around The head unit and I complained too the people who installed it and said that its basically the best they can get. Am I in the wrong for complaing about the gap I fell like the install it self was good But that gap bugs the shit outa me Did the stereo place really install the best the can or was it a hack job <From what they said and What I can See is its actually the metrea mounting brackets
they can call it hack, but the industry revolves around slight modifications to make things work. I've seen some serious hacks over last 25 years this is a fix to a solution for installers that are critical about the finished product. may post a pic of your finished and I can make suggestions forward. some radios just aren't correct and could be just that. I feel it is best to go back to a shop, we installers improve from being notified of dissatisfaction. Some just jump to a bad review and give no chance for error to be corrected
@@kyleharden5260 I was IN the shop 2 days ago too ask if they can remedy it some how but they said I need to spend money on other alpine brackets /30 min too install I took a few photos too ask people but Im not too sure how too up load too like RU-vid to get some other installers options Do tyou have a work email too get your option on it
had a custom easy removable canvas top made, custom front bumper, small lift/tires, been a daily several yrs. bout time to sell if anybody is interested.
Hi could you please help me to fix my remote starter (code alarm CA 5055) to f150 2011 truck. Now i connected my ignition harness and brakes only , and it is working . But i need to leave a key in the key swich for remote start. Otherwise not start. I think some wrong wiring. I didn't cut the starter wire just joint the starter wire to that. Please help me to fix which wire connect to which colour. My truck Ignition harness wires are ign + white/orange, acc + purple/green, starter + Light blue/white, blue/gray, green/ red, white/ brown. Transponder wires are PATS power purple/ orange, ground black, TX data yellow/ orange, RX data purple/gray. Remote starter main wires are Tach input purple/white Start status/ active output(-) blue/black Factory DISARM/ active output(-) grn/blk Pulse after shutdown (-) green/ white Pulse during crank(-) black/ yellow Factory ARM/ Pulse after start (-) lt blue Ignition 1(+) pink Battery 12v red Ignition 2 (+) pink/ white Accessory 1(+) orange Battery 12v red/white Starter output - motor side(+) purple (Please ignore door and parking connections for now)
If it will start correctly with the key placed into ignition cylinder or the head of key placed directly in front of ignition cylinder by the remote start button and will shutdown by brake unless key is turned on for takeover most everything sounds like you have correct. You will need to buy a KITB "key in the box" security bypass and wire it correctly into the remote start system (blue/blackstripe) wire is utilized to trigger the kitb other wire is a 12v hot. then wire the loop around key cylinder. Place a programmed key into box and try it out. if works put it all together. if not try adjusting loop placement around cylinder. You will lose this key into install. If you have 2 keys you can add an extra by programming it. There's also more involved hard wired bypasses, but you'll need to seek tech from one of those companies for whatever product you use
Thank you very much for your response. Just one more doubt, what is PATS power and RX and TX ? Also what is the use of wire for Tac and if not connectto the tac wire, what will happened?
Hi i have a ford f150 2011, i bought a code alarm remote starrter ca5055, which wire i need to connect to my transponder socket? Now no wires connected to the transponder. My remote starter is now working only when i leave my key in the key switche. When i remove key from the key swich, the remote starter on all the displays in the meterboard but not cranking
kyle I have a new 865R supposed to have all the wiring harnesses in it will there be speaker wire plugs behind the headliner cutouts? I am waiting for John Deere base radio kit I have the John Deere Jenson radio to install. But I would prefer speakers in the upper position rear of headliner instead of cutting out the dash.
headliner speaker location is great, I DO NOT utilize any of the original wiring for the installs I provide for my local JD dealers, best of luck tracking down what is what and for sure post a video after you've figured it all out others may appreciate that.
single din is what I fit into one of the existing pockets, I'm sure a creative installer could remove both pockets and install a double din as well with a trim ring of sorts
Ok so I’m at thence control back 2 sets of connectors in the back, and 2 other weird looking wires on the other end. I’m figuring I’m not using the middle connected right. Anything I’m not using leave unplugged or is it safe to leave everything connected that I’m not using?
definitely don't leave any open bare wires. the 2 larger harness have the power and speakers, also should be an fm antenna, maybe a sat. antenna, may be other depending on original options. but anything other than the speakers, power, antenna can be left un-used. the vehicle doesn't have an acc power(the red on the new radio) so that has to be run to a keyed power somewhere in the car
metra 70-5524 harness will get you power/ground and speakers on a more base model fusion. you'll have to hardwire radio acc (red) to a switched location. I used NO kit for this, just creative experienced installation, also needed a metra 40eu10 antenna adaptor. Sony xav-ax8100 is the current similar model, or an even nicer upgrade to that the xav-ax9500es. I would consider a reputable shop if you don't have experience installing radios into modern vehicles
if your a handy DIY guy go to Rostra cruise company website and enter vehicle info for cruise kit #, if not so handy most 12v specialty shops that do remote starts & car audio typically will do these.
