Disney Princess wanna be, marathon runner, and breast cancer survivor!
My name is Rose and I want to share my love of running. I started running in high school because I wasn’t athletic or coordinated enough to join any organized school sport. So, I started running, first around the streets in my neighborhood and then began participating in local 5K’s. I never ran anything longer than 3.1 miles, until…….. The Disneyland Half Marathon in 2009. Since then I’ve been hooked. I’ve done over 100 half marathons and a handful of full marathons, including Chicago and Portland. In January 2018 I completed my first Dopey Challenge at Walt Disney World. Join me in discovering new places and races!
Tailwind was a huge game changer for me. More than just hydration because it has carbs so you can supplement for gels, but I prefer the no flavor version for running. It also helps to drink the flavors during carb loading before a race! Scratch definitely tastes good, but I think it’s only electrolytes. 😊
Thanks, I need to give tailwind another try. I have one of the unflavored packets, that might be better. It tasted so salty to me, but I guess that’s the point.
So excited to watch this next journey for you! I recently re-started my running journey after a couple years long hiatus. So happy to get back out there! ❤🎉
Just stumbled on your video/channel…love this! Can’t wait to follow along with your training journey. Love your attitude…maybe I’ll see you at marathon weekend!
So happy to see you back and that you got into Dopey ❤️ I’ve had so much negative self talk in my head recently, and I just need to get back out there and start running again. It’s been months and I feel so out of shape and just in my head. My hope for the past year has been to run Dopey again in 2026. (I ran it in 2023) So thanks for that pep talk and I’m excited to follow along on your training for all the races this year. Sending love and hugs!
What a coincidence! I was just looking at this cute Betsey Johnson purse and found myself questioning whether I, at 54 years old, should be considering such a young looking kitsch purse. Heck no will I be thinking that way! I will be getting that purse, wearing what I want, spending my money on doing things I want to do, and will continue to be physically active as long as I can and want to. Do your races girl! You earned the right to live your life to the fullest!
First time Dopey here! So excited to train alongside you 😊 besides twisting my ankle on the first run of the week my week went OK 🤦♀️ fortunately, it wasn’t a bad sprain. I just need to stay on paved roads for another week or so before hitting uneven trails again 👍 congrats on the first week done 🎉
I'll be at DL Halloween races as well! I'm so happy they open races up again, much easier for this pacific NW runner to travel too. Good Luck in training!
I am also 60 and attempting to get back in racing shape. I hear my obstacles talked about all the time - and just ran my slowest race ever. Thank you for this video - I needed to hear much of what you had to say and remember my why. I’ll be following your journey to Disney - thank you! Now I have to find that discipline ….
It's so hard (at least for me) to get back into running. My legs feel like heavy weights. I know it's going to get better, but WOW we don't bounce back like we did in our 20's. Keep it up, you can do it!
