Thanks for your excellent video, very well explained. I have an SL55 in my garage and this happens. I have it on tge trickle charger but sometimes even when there is voltage in the battery it won't charge, it might be the charger though. Strangely sometimes even without the charger mine can be ok for weeks, then other times it goes low after a few days, no pattern to it. Greetings from Northern Ireland.
@@daviddrummond8729 Have you checked the battery itself? How old is the battery? After 7 or 8 years most battery cells become weak so that the power cannot be kept. That would be the first item to check. And please check if you have any auxiliary items. Like Bluetooth phone adapter or any other items. Have you checked the power of the battery with the car shut down? A so called rest power measurement?
@@daviddrummond8729 My Ferrari is always connected to a trickle charger. But this spring I was not able to start the car. The battery was down. The brand was FIAMM. A quality brand. But after some years it is unfortunately necessary the get a new one. Especially the SL has multiple control units which need a small amount of power even if the car is locked and is sleeping.
The trunk battery(auxiliary battery) needs a trickle charger to keep the battery primed. I have an CTEK MXS 5.0 trickle charger on my 2009 SL550 auxiliary battery charged at all times. Whether the car sits for a day or several months, the auxiliary battery is hooked up to the trickle charger.
@@jgonzalesm6 If you ever need to change. please buy yourself the battery. It is made by Varta. Mercedes puts just their own sticker on the battery additionally. The main dealer will charge at least the double price just for that sticker
Great Advice = Use your car. I have a 2009 SL63AMG. When I changed out the consumer battery, I kept the memory by using an OBD plug with 12v . I use a NOCO Genius battery charger for the consumer battery when not using the car for a week or more. Cheers
If you use an AGM battery which holds the power much longer, then it is enough to charge the battery every 2 to 3 weeks. Of course AGM is more expensive. But in this case I would recommend AGM type batteries

Have you got any issues when driving the car? Black smoke means that there is too much fuel for too little amout of Oxygen. You have to check the fuel line. Petrol engine? Or diesel? Is there only one code? After checking the gasoline filter under the car check the voltage of the lambda oxygen sensors. Should be between 0 and 1 volt. Then finally do a smoke test. In most casess one of the above mentioned problems is the reason.

Just search for ignition coil M5. Ducati 696. There are lots of them on e.g. eBay. An I use following spark plugs NGK DCPR8E or Denso IXU24 or Denso XU24EPR-U

What is the size of the gap? A small gab is normal. But big gap means that there is something between seat and tank. Sometime a cable. Mostly the cable of the Ducati Drive Recorder.

You mean the small one for tail? Ebay. Just search for Led bike sequential indicator. You will find lots of them. For this bike you will need extra resistance because right and left side have not a common current chanel. You can choose cheap indicators which also last quite long. A very good quality item here in Germany is Kellermann. But those are quite costly.
