Enjoyed both the red fast trail blue has some great berms on it, jump line short but good fun and well made. Well catered for bike park climb up to trails easy as well thanks for comment and great addition to other trails across Arran, cheers! 😁🤙
Great video Gary. That looked like a really cool place and the trails were very fast with a lot of flow. Great riding and nice shots. Thanks for sharing and have a great weekend mate🤙✌
This has been a project started by both local rides and Arran High School mountain bike club to build a local riding facility been a few years in making done a brilliant job of building not only some great trails in addition to the local rider built trails but also installing Velosolutions pump track long with a shed for riders to sit in when it rains (which it did when I was there, glad of it 😂) and bike wash and pump facilities excellent place, happy you enjoyed this video Christoph thanks for comment and enjoy your weekend too! 😁🤙
I really enjoyed my spin round the new trails, a great addition to the rest of the locally built trails and single tracks covering Arran, will have to meet up with local riders some point and explore further, thanks! 😁🤙
Actually got it new Stoozer but got lucky there was a big discount at time of sale, sold Mavic pro drone to put towards it too. Great drone for following, discovered using hip (or bum) bag handy for keeping controller in. Actually easier taking the forest road down to the reservoir then following path back up other hill out takes you to bottom of east cairn hill. Cheers Stoozer! 😁👍
Nice one Gary. I really enjoyed watching this. Some really cool drone footage pal. I completed West Cairn Hill a wee while back but have yet to do this one. Top video. 👍🏻
Cheers Stoozer, East Cairn actually has a couple of descents including this one, great trail with plenty of twists and features on it. Despite forgetting my hip bag for controller still managed some decent drone footage. Had tried to get to West Cairn Hill but couldnt find path thick grass hard to get through and pretty boggy up top, but there are other ways in will explore these and the surrounding hills in West Pentlands, welcome to join if free, all the best Gary 😁🤙
Great video Gary, as always I am overwhelmed by the beautiful scenery and the shots were really great. Thanks for sharing and have a great evening mate. Ride on🤙
Thank you Christoph it's great getting out in the local Pentlands hills in the sun plenty of other hills and trails to explore here, cheers and have a great weekend 😁🤙
Thanks Ian it was my first time trying East Cairn Hill enjoyed it plenty of features and great views to keep it interesting there's more line choices on same hill used app outdooractive to plan ride handy for navigating way up 😁🤙
That was a fantastic descent Gary, great shots and a cool trail in this beautiful landscape. Thanks for sharing and have a great weekend mate. Ride on✌🤙
Thank you Christoph, this is a new part of the Pentlands for me some great panoramic views of surrounding hills will try and get out tomorrow all the best and ride on, cheers! 😁🤙
It definetely is a stunning trail Stoozer even better in person one of my favourites, glad you enjoyed. Yes this is footage from the Air 3 a great drone which at the end of video managed to get down just in time as it started raining, close call lol! all the best Gary 😁🤙
Thanks Christoph, DJI Air 3 worth it great at following on various parts of the ride, never get fed up of visiting Glencoe with its open and beautiful scenery although I didnt ride on this occasion there's a mtb park in Glencoe with a chairlift up to the top and cafe at bottom, also enjoy riding west highland way from Bridge of Orchy to Glencoe and back, great day out, thanks and have a great day! 😁🤙
Thanks Stoozer, enjoyed my ride starting from west kip and heading east got great weather haven't tried this in opposite direction could be good. Yes this was shot on the Air 3 a great drone first proper time out with it great at following, currently on non biking holiday with family in Anstruther getting lots of practice. 😁🤙
Enjoyed my ride at Mabie red loop too, great fun likewise when I get chance or maybe head for Ae forest been a while since been there, thanks for comment! 😁🤙
Thank you Christoph, been a while since I done this part of the Pentlands, enjoyed I and managed to get a newer drone which is working well, have a great day too 😁🤙
@@garyalexander3281 no worries liked the video, few of us coming up to do mabie and ae forest next weekend so stumbled on your video, I may invest a decent go pro this week for the trip
@@d34dmouse27 I use GoPro Max good results but lots of editing involved, GoPro 12 black or DJI osmo action 4 both good I hear and roughly same price, just depends what you want and how much you want to spend, was up at Mabie a few weeks back was good - enjoy! 🤙
Thanks Christoph, starts rooty and a bit tech at the top, goes into some flow then some twisty steep features near the bottom even better trail was dry, glad you enjoyed have a great weekend, cheers! 😁🤙
Thanks Tasos! Hushhush is a trail I hadn't heard of but glad I gave it a go can actually ride this one Dunkeld has dozens of trails, appreciated cheers and keep shredding too! 😁🤙
Cheers Ian excuse delay in replying RU-vid didn't let me know, highly recommended especially on clear day, check out Strava as apparently there is an easier way up than the path climb. Views amazing ride down great fun! 😁🤙
Not far from the train station Stoozer. Once youve sessioned Electric Beaver a couple of times it's great fun. There's a few other red grade trail just off this one too. Dunkeld got dozens of trails, admittidely cant ride most of them but not short of places to ride, there's a few xc routes one bigger one up to loch Ordie. You also have a trail called Pink Floyd which is further up the hill from Electric Beaver, hada laugh trying to ride in wet but would be much better in the dry. Thanks for comment and will have to organise day up to Dunkeld, will be in touch, all the best Gary 😁🤙
Thank you Christoph comments always appreciated, electric beaver after a bit of sessioning was great fun closest trail to train station really enjoyed one of many trails in Dunkeld most of which are steep and technical but this one's a good starting point, have a great weekend, cheers! 😁🤙
A wonderful day for it pal. Gutted that I could not join you. Well done and well ridden. I came up a different way on a track that was steep but a lot easier to ride. Well done going down on the Carn Ban Mor descent. Cheers. Stoozer. 👍🏻
Thank you Stoozer, I think I know which way you came up bumped into another rider who was on his way down told me about the easier way up will try to find next time. The Carn Bam Mor descent was great few steep bits and water bars I chose to walk over to avoid risk of either dinging one of my wheels or getting a pinch flat which happened to me one time in Glencoe whilst trying to jump a water bar. I'm sure we'll get another time we can head back up and maybe try another route, all the best Gary 😁🤙
Wow that is a nice trail Gary. Tight fast single track a bit tech in places. I did Mabie all the was back in 2008. My favourite section was the Descender Bender. Is it still there? I do't remember this section. Nice video pal. Stoozer. 👍🏻
I do enjoy riding this part of the Elevator trail Stoozer, its great having the ebike to tackle the uphill tech bits, pretty much managed to ride whole thing with exception of one bit I misjudged but could have probably sessioned and got it. Descender Bender has two parts to it Upper and Lower Descender bender, will be sharing these videos in due course. It's still a big red circuit made up of different trails. Thanks for comment and all the best, Gary 😁🤙
That was a great descent Gary, what a view from the top, it was so much fun watching you descend and I enjoyed the ride. Great work and thanks for sharing mate. Have a great weekend🤙
Thank you Christoph, the climb up was a tough one apparently was an eaiser way up which I found out about from another rider when I was near the top, was initally dubious about coming back down the same way but done it none the less, enjoyed and glad I done it. The views were spectacular from the top it was a very clear day was very popular with other people who were enjoying thier trip also. Perfect conditions for flying drone. If youre ever considering riding a Munro mountain in Scotland recommend these two. Comment appreciated as always and have a great weekend hopefully get some riding in, cheers! 😁🤙
@@garyalexander3281 Thanks Gary🙏, great to hear you had a good day and you now know a slightly less strenuous way up. Have a great Sunday and have fun on the bike mate🤙
Fantastic vid Gary - most of the places you do I have either been or have on the list - good to get some advance viewing - also good to see if it's doable on emtb! Doing this i a few weeks with a group - can't wait :)
Thank you very much appreciated, I do the same myself good to see other people's videos of where your going, Sgor Gaoith is doable there's a few steep bits and big water bars but for me just a case of getting off bike and walking over but a great ride none the less, views are as terrific (weather permitting) as everyone says enjoy your adventure there cheers! 😁🤙
Been years since I was last here, past couple of visits to Dumfries have went to Ae forest trails, good to get back to Mabie as well. Yet to explore the trails and rock slab features at Dalbeattie will check out sometime, thanks for comment! 😁🤙
Thanks Christoph, originally wasn't going to bother with this trail but decided to check it out glad I did one of my favourites there, comment appreciated cheers! 😁🤙
Nice looking trail that Gary though a wee bit boggy in places. The section from the summit looked great. Cracking active track. drone footage pal. Cheers. Stoozer. 👍🏻
Was very boggy on the path on the way up lost the trail at a few points but when got to the top found the way down, wheel got stuck in middle of trail and cam off bike! 😂 Rode another locally built red grade trail, or shuld say attempted to but ended up walking half of it, overall enjoyed though, thanks for comment Stoozer, all the best Gary 😁🤙
Thank you Christoph, happy with how the drone shots turned out. Trails here are very technical and boggy in bits would require lots more sessioning but enjoyed my day out, cheers and have a great weekend yourself too hopefully out riding! 😁🤙
A great tour Gary, fantastic trails and beautiful scenery. The shots were great and it was great to see you with Stoozer. Ride on and have a nice weekend mate🤙
Looked like you had a great day for it Gary. Looked like quite a workout even with the ebike. Some pretty rough looking sections of track too to keep you on your toes.😃👌🤙🤙🤙
Thanks Donald, there were a couple of steep and rocky forest road descents near Glen Douglas the single track at Glen Fruin had a couple of tech bits and a steep uphill climb, overall brilliant day and we took plenty rests on way, recommended (ebike preferably) cheers! 😎☀️🤙
Thanks for the day out Stoozer, enjoyed my ride round the local trails and the Lomonds been a few years since I that visited here, would be great to do a big bike day out somewhere like the gareloch, loch long and loch lomond circular maybe get a few other riders too, food for thought, cheers and all the best Gary 😁🤙
Its funny how the camera never shows how steep some bits are. That grassy hill coming down the north side of West Lomond looked on the video almost flat! It definitely isn't! Nice video Gary. I've only walked up there but really should take the bike up one of these days, it looks like a lot of fun. 😀🤙🤙🤙
Totally agree there's some steep and rutty bits had to push up at a few places but overall great fun coming down on bike with some great views over Fife, thanks for comment Donald! 😁🤙
