The wire to the lamp is live once the ignition is turned on and your parking lights is switched on also I have a junction box under the rh foot plate every wire from all rear lamps and trailer plug come into that then a single 7 core wire feeds that from the back of the dash panel hope this helps you out
Nice one, I rebuilt the engine on our 550DT a couple of years ago. Years on the orchard doing blowing had ovaled the cylinders. Its continued being a workhorse
@@garydollard I have a 1959 M-F 50 petrol that I still use on a regular basis, & this year she should get a respray; & all new gauges, & I already put on a new seat sea, & back rest cushion; I also have all new decals for her, But she'll always will be a working tractor as long as I have work for her to do. I might have her in a Christmas parade this year; Along with my newer 2018 M-F 1526 diesel. I've had the M-F 50 for 27 years now so she is due for a refurbish. I hope she turns out as good as your M-F 35 X. Thank You for your reply.

Hi James I would have no problem doing it for you if you were interested but would be 5 or 6 months before I could start I’m almost finished a mf 165 and I’m starting a mf135 straight after it
@@garydollard the condition she came in she deserves to be restored was the cluch the only mechanical job you done well needed it would they be as good as the massey is there a smaller universal tractor did you fabricate a cab frame whats that tractor doin now earning her keep
Nice job mate, looks so original! I want to ask you what colour code you used for chassis (transmission), RAL or the name of it, i have one universal 650 which needs to be restaured. Thanks! Also get an eye on my channel for another unviersal restoration! Thanks!
With these tractors our nation produced our food from 68 to 90. Universal U445 looks after restoration like new. Nice. I wish i had one. I have a fendt and each time gets broken is so expensive to repair... Catastrophe.
Thanks Stephen their a nice tractor alright still prefer a mf 35 or 135 myself I’m working on my own 135 at the minute and iv a diesel 20 for a fella to start any day il post videos of both once complete
The fella that owns that has it since new his dad bought it says it was a great tractor done everything on the farm until 1998 when the bought a John deer never gave them any trouble
@@garydollard Ours was bought in 73 and had a tanco 968 trip loader. It was the only tractor on the farm until a mf 165 arrived in 84 and that was replaced in 87 with a Universal 640. The 445 was left idle in 93 when a Zetor 8111 with a quicke loader. The 445 did a huge amount of work including emptying the slurry pit and loading side flingers. It was never minded too well but just kept going. They were based on a Fiat. For me the 445 was one of the best tractors ever made.
The only way I could get parts for that one was looking under the fiat heading you won’t find much bits listed for universal iv another’s one there to do now a later 445 with a power steering on it heavier front axle on it and a hand Lever for operating the pto
We have on our farm also an u445 made 1981 my father bough as scrap in 1989 and than he restored it we using evryday, and than we restored again on 2023 works like new, everything working -15c no problame to start, low fuel consumtion, love it
There’s a place in Galway that does the parts for those they can be hard to get bits for I work in an Agri parts store and sourced some of the bits that way too curley universal tractor parts in Galway is the fella that specialises in the odd bits
