It was a hosted game with the host's custom map so I don't have it. There is one called 'Drained Nomegatron 4v4' in the [WAF] Map Pack which is verrrry similar just less pretty. Hope that helps!

This looks really fun - but ... Absolutely no details on what this is? I've never seen this gameplay in regular PA, and I just can not find anything via googling, so... What is this?!
You can assign types of unit to keys hotbuild2, but not sure about unit variations themselves. Might be a question for the PA discord (someone will help on there). A feature I used to overlook is if you select a bunch of units, the breakdown of what you have appears in the bottom left. If you then click the specific unit you want in that list, it only highlights what specific one. Select idle Fabricators is a hot key (1 on HotBuild2 preset, or F in base game) too. Good luck!
Well done analysis. I still have a question, something I dont understand. Maybe because I am not that good of a player but if they know the location of each other, i think it was nik who found ptasior first, why dont they just build t2 units and kill the enemy commander?
Thanks, glad you enjoyed the video 😁. The good players know the maps really well so know exactly where the opponent tends to start. Also most planets are symmetrical so you can work it out. If you go into T2 straight away your economy will crash and be realllllly slow at getting units out and building up eco. It is a good idea to get units out asap to start applying pressure, with T1. T2 is generally better when your economy can handle the extra strain.
22:30 using the hotkey mod for buildings, i bound the ranged units and bombers to the C key and the fighters and frontliners to V so that its easy to separate them, Highlight, C click back, Highlight, V click forwards.
Yea this one was, in ranked it is only 1x. These players are just VERY good at resource management, knowing which units to build at each stage of the game without using too much power and metal. Glad you enjoyed 👍
I think by default you can have up to 12 players, but you can add more by adding a launch option on the steam client. There's a comment on this video that asks the same question and I answer it technically 👍
You have to put a Launch Option on startup - I am using the Steam version of the game, so you right click on the game in your library>properties>general, then in the 'Launch Options' field use --local-server-max-players=32 Hope that helps! Change the value to how many players you'd like in the game. Hope that helps!

I don't know if it's better, but I think it's easier to get into and have fun with. The planet element gives a great twist on the concept. I think it's a very underrated game personally!
Check to see what sort of mods you might have on. Some systems take longer than others, usually depends on features and size. How powerful is your pc? Hope you manage to resolve it soon!
@@DanRTS It is very frustrating to hear "nuclear" pronounced wrongly. Everyone with the most basic interest in science, especially physics, HATES it. Your content is great, I watch it all the time, it just makes my blood boil at that mispronunciation.
There is no real reason other than poor management of resources! I prefer to build units, but some defences around the base would have been much much better idea than the orbital defence craziness over the middle!
If I'm honest, it really has quietend down. Whilst you'll usually be able to find a game to play in the evenings, and if you host one people will join, those aren't very begginer friendly. I have been playing a bit of BAR recently and the game is super active. I will start recording more BAR content soon. Heh yea more than 2 planets is incredibly hard to manage. I tend to set up tasks on other planets and let them go for it.
@@DanRTS I tried bar but it's just ugly..I wish the graphics and units looked better.. I've literally Uninstalled and installed it 3 different times lol I just feel supcom is a much much better game so why play something inferior I don't have that much time to waste lol
I personally think the game graphics are pretty decent, especially after the recent gfx update. The UI is horrible though, they need a proper UI designer on board. It's very 'developer' designed. Heh. I used to love and be genuinely really good at SupCom, then fell away from it, and recently tried FAF and it was super baffling to me. Need to pick it up again!
@@DanRTS why was it baffling? Lol it hasn't changed really. I still think it's way better than any other rts..I feel like it might stay this way for good..I hope I'm wrong but there isn't much hope
Haha. Baffling because I've been playing a lot of PA, and trying to meld my mind back to it was hard. I mean it has been about 12 years of not playing it. I need to spend some time with it again!
Although I'm basically a noob playing PA, I love your videos. I'm always watching them in my breaks. When are you playing usually? Would love to get annihilated by you in a FFA sometime. ^^

Why do most people run PA matches on "one planet only" maps? Doesn't it kinda defeat the purpose of PA being an RTS with interplanetary travel mechanic (that and blowing planets up)? Oh, and why no room for naval units?
Indeed they are different styles of gameplay. Single planet games are generally preferred as it can be hard toanage multiple planets! Naval is also hard to muster and is slow that's why it's less popular. I will ensure some more multi-planetary games are recorded!
Thanks for the excellent vid. At 4 mins you were floating energy so you want to have more fabbers out by that time, grabbing metal so that you can use the wasted energy for production. Usually you want to expand in multiple directions and use dox for aggression instead of defense. I like that you used more air than last time. The air advantage is pretty huge in PA so its worth hanging onto them long term to kill his air and then punish with massed bombers. It's worth practicing your expansion vs bots, it'll help you get used to expanding in multiple directions in a stress free environment. Good game and i look forward to the next. These are really fun to watch.
I think a lotta the issues came from the start, lack of aggression, not enough fabbers expanding in multiple directions at once and try getting in the habit of 1 proxy for every metal patch of 3+ metal also one last thing comm walking once T2 is out I wouldn’t recommend but considering chrissi is a gold you still did well, GGs and nice video of course
A tip for the early game is to use icarus escorted by a few hummingbirds to pick of enemy fabs, 1 icarus and 2 or 3 hummingbirds is enough. They're much more efficient for the job compared to bumblebees because they cost less and buld faster. I've also found that ants aren't very useful in the early game compared to strikers, strykers move a lot faster and build quicker, in 30 seconds you can build 10 strikers compared to 3 ants, and you can kite the ants ,so if you commit all 3 antws to 1 mex cluster, the strikers can kite that and take out a different mex cluster before the ants can respond, ants are better a bit later on when you get a lot of them.
no air gameplay, i recommend giving them a hotkey such as tab so that you can get used to moving them around at all times for scouting if nothing else. Otherwise it's a wasted factory.
11:50 terrain advantage meant that Nik couldn't push broom, because all of brooms units in the crater would be able to fire on Nik, whereas only Nik's front troops could shoot broom when they look into the crater
