Thanks madam for your lesson. I am from Bangladesh and preparing for spedetomy surgery at cmc vellor. Now I am taking otoflour 20 mg 2 tablet a day for two month.
Hello doctor, I want to ask you. I have a swollen tonsil and terrible pressure on the neck from the right side, extending to near the thyroid gland, then once below the ear, then once behind the neck, with inflammation of the lymph node at the back of the neck without swelling. I had a complete blood test and a CRP test. Ultrasound examination, nasal and ear endoscopy, all results were good, but one of the doctors told me that I have deep ulcers in the neck resulting from the tonsil and gland, but they do not appear on the outside. Is this possible?
I had surgery almost 3 and half month ago, Right after surgery, when packing removed, i have much improved hearing, But right now i have again feeling gradual hearing loss, reason?
Explain that at what site of body the figure of 8 suture is done and when to use horizontal and vertical mattress suture. We all know types of suture but im unable to find the answer to this question.
Figure of 8 suture - Best suture to place in tonsillar fossa in case of excessive bleeding of reactionary or secondary haemorrhage type Also used in In dental surgery - Extraction socket closure, bone graft placement in socket, adaptation of gingival papilla around the tooth In primary closure of skin lacerations and evidence shows as it can be used in the treatment of tunnel bleeding after femoral artery puncture.
Horizontal mattress suture- Good to use in cosmetically sensitive areas such as face.It is best for closing bony deficiencies such as oroantral fistula and cystic cavities (It everts mucosal margins and brings more areas of raw tissue into contact) Vertical mattress - used in body parts where the wound edges tend to invert such as posterior neck. Also used for closing deep wounds.
Thank you so much madam I have completed studying the video series Larynx and Ca Now moving to neck dissection series Your videos are daily booster drinks for ENT postgraduate trainees...❤
