Great video review. Will you review your bigger unit the XC958U? I think that unit is equivalent to the CAT 950M correct? Anything you would add to your units to make them better?
Thank you. I will probably not do a review of the 958 as it is the same setup just bigger. And yes that's the cat950 equivalent. I would add nothing, they run great.

How did you make out this year. Did switching the cats for the xngs? pay off. The snow fall average was very low, at least for the North East. I'm very curious if your accounts are seasonal set rate/etc. If you don't feel comfortable answering I understand.
First, the XCMGs were awesome and worth the switch. Second, we were below normal too, but had a decent season. Third, I have a mix of seasonal and per pus, could definitely use some more seasonals
@@SnowBoss That's awesome! I assume those transportation/distribution sites pay well. What type of accounts would you say pay the best!? Strip malls, HOA's etc, are just getting worse and worse, especially with all the new small landscape companies low balling everything.
@@chriskatz1152 strip malls are the worst now. I have 1 and its basically a race tp the bottom. Hoa's I don't know because we don't do them, but they require too much manpower. I would say Industrial is the best atm.
@@SnowBoss from one snow removal guy to another. I was thinking the exact thing! 2 guys onsite, 1 loader/skid steer, 1plow/salt truck, done. Btw I love that brine set-up, you should do another video on how they worked out, with the positives and negatives!
Mini excavators are Kubota knock offs 10t and up are Cat knock offs Loaders are Latorneau knock offs Rollers are Cat knock offs Profiler are Wirtgen knock off Bragging about these is like a guy bragging about his fake Rolex. Zero resale value.
Who cares.....and who was bragging? I was just reviewing a machine. Resale, who cares? I will make tens of millions of dollars with these machines over their lifetime and it will cost me half the price to own them. I could care less about resale value.
Chinese knock off of a Latorneau loader. All XCMG machines are knock offs of other brands. I know all this because I worked alongside their engineers for 18 months. The Chinese workers working in the west for these brands get paid $50 a week to bring you your cheap loader. There’s a big difference between a genuine product and a knock off.
And your point? If each machine makes me a 1 to 2 million dollars over its life and I spend half the money to do it, with machines that will get the job done and are reliable, what's your point? I could give two craps about who copies what, because I have driven them all and all of them are copies of each other, same pieces, buttons, parts, steel, etc. Who cares? I am in business to make money, not give two craps about a manufacture gouging its customers to make their stock holders and ceo's billionaires. Forget that crap. I choose to keep more of my money in my pocket, period.
What were your thoughts on the arm rest on the right side of the machine? We quite liked the 958we had on rent (put about 200hrs on it) but found the hard plastic arm rest was very uncomfortable by the end of the night.
Interesting. I didn't notice. It is adjustable. None of the guys said anything when I asked and they ran them 15 hours at a time. I also ran one for about 12 hours and didn't feel that. But, we also move our right arms a lot to change the wing plow direction so maybe that's why.
As an Operator I would love to operate one of these. I've operated VOLVO, Case, Cat, Komatsu one of my favorite to run. Hate to say it that Komatsu would out push that KITTY CAT. Not a Cat hater but just call em as I know em. I pushed for ARCTIC Here with a 18ft ARCTIC Sectional and it would move the snow with now issues ⚠️
Two for one in snow is a great deal would you rather have the wing controller in the joystick and will you be able to get small 12# to replace your skids thanks keep smiling only two pushes for me. This year feeling the pain
Only 2 pushes? :-( The cats were not controlled in the joystick either. We've been doing it this way for so long now it's no big deal. I am hoping to replace all the skids with small mini loaders for next season.
Thanks. It wasn't all about the price, If they weren't very good made machines I would not have bought them no matter how low the price was. The price is a bonus for a good machine.
You kept talking about being in the snuck zone, you all stole our snow down in delaware. That storms we where supposed to get that 4+ inches you got. We got lucky to see 2” and it was gone by 10am. We did get some plowing in. Sadly the season is done and next year isn’t looking to good.
Yes for sure, that band that set up to my south stole everyone's moisture for sure. I was just lucky enough to be close enough to get what we did. And yes another La Nina for next season foes not bode well for us. Getting hard to stay in the game at this rate.
@@SnowBoss sadly it has been that way for the last few years. With the exception of this year we haven’t really had and push able storms in like 4 years. Two years ago we got out once or twice last year we salted twice. This year we got out for 3 storms. I think it might be time to hang up my plow gear and enjoy any snow days we get with the kids. Missed to many of them with my older kids and don’t want to do it again with my 6 year old.
@@jjeanes2214 Yeah man I hear ya. At some point it just isn't worth the aggravation. I have contemplated the same thing myself. My kids are college now so it's a little different. But snow owns you, can't do anything else because of the "what if". And the problem is next season is already in trouble because of La Nina coming back. So yeah, I think the tough times will keep going sadly.
@@SnowBoss bout to say screw it and just go on call for someone. Money just isn’t in it any more. Hell I make more at my full time job then I have running a plow company lately any more it seems to be we are losing money with insurance and wages.
