When you get the Muskie on the figure 8 because the strike is so quick and uncertain you have to keep head down you guys! I know the footage is important but you guys have real skill. An it’ll get even better. Keep the heads down! Let’s do it! Let me know if I’m right.😅😅
@zzzubmno2755 Check out out my personal best walleye, caught it last fall down here in Pittsburgh: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-316jNzZ_0Cs.html
Im a bona-fide redneck from Alabama. 2 years ago, I switched from lead-acid to Lifepo4 in my bass boat. I have a 36v trolling motor, so I went from almost 180# down to 30#. The battery I bought is a single 36v-40ah, and it cost $950, but it is well worth it. I also had to buy a dedicated charger. Call it $1100 instead of the $450 I would have spent to buy new lead acid. The weight alone was a major factor. I can charge in 1/4 the time. I have Bluetooth to check battery status. In July, I spent 4 days fishing Lake Okeechobee. The majority of that time I was using spotlock or trolling. I NEVER charged the battery. Admittedly, I didnt have to fight much wind, that's unusual for Okeechobee. I live in GA so low-temp protection isn't an issue for me. If you're farther north it could be something to consider. The 12v Lifepo4 battery prices are now down below $200 on Amazon. Meanwhile, Battle Born is trying to sell theirs for $600. All of these batteries and battery cells are being made in China. I've been so happy with Lifepo4 technology that I'm thinking about buying me an electric truck.... or not. Walmart has lithium chargers for $59. 15 amp.
Great fishing trip!. Fat 46! Just a couple of suggestions after 35 years of fishing muskies - Don't reel up so close to the tip of the rod when you have a fish on and are going to the net. That gives the fish leverage to pull the bait. More line out - like a couple feet maybe - let's the rod do the work and provides some give. Still keep the line tight just not so short. This leads to tip #2 Instead of trying to scoop the fish, more line out allows you to put the net deeper and guide the fish into the net without the rod tip getting in the way. Scooping lots of times leads to half the fish hanging out of the net and most of the time the fish falls out of the net not into it. Especially big fish. For what it's worth. Again, great trip and you guys really have the boat side strikes down well. Lots of guys get surprised that the strike happens and lose the fish.
I’ve never tuned them/needed to. The bigger one is definitely easier to work, the 6 has a touch to it you have to get the hang of. But the 6 can be work with just the reel handle if that helps (short bursts of half turns)
I’ve found the 6 can be worked well with the reel at a slightly less than half turn…but a sharp quick turn at that - giving it that swing that the fish come to love.
I wish I knew what lake this was looks so nice fr lol definitely ain't gonna ask but I'll find out one day lol I been hitting all the good lakes in pa the last couple years from Pittsburgh to Williamsport pa
😂why do I get this literally a day after my buddy snatched the beanie off my head and casted it into the lake 😂 I said the exact thing to him afterwards
Never smoke a cigarette while reeling in a fish, especially a big fish! My uncle hooked a huge striper and when he set the hook, he reared back with the pole and the line touched the ember of the cigarette. The line parted and he lost the fish!!! You have been warned..... 😉
Not sure…I’ve caught them a few places in PA. The PA fish and boat commission published biologist reports where you can see what lives in which lakes…I just entered Bowfin and searched here: www.fishandboat.com/pages/search.aspx
