It's crazy that one of Guerrouj's pace setters here, Noah Ngeny, wound up challenging Guerrouj for the mile world record later and still has the 2nd fastest time.
He had a lot stronger pacers back then compared to what Jacob has to deal with today, he only ran the last 340 meters alone in front. But still I believe Jacob will beat him in 2025.
i just watched Ingebrigsten running at his best trying to beat this record today in the meeting of Laussane but again the poor guy failed , he did 26.73 far far from 26.00 of the moroccan, I think ELG is a living legend. i dont know how someone could beat his historical 3.26.00... just an unbelievable record in the 1500
What a majestic runner Hicham was, his powerful, elegant, precise and flawless stride was poetry in motion, not to mention his absolutely insane aerobic and anaerobic power. He has been the GOAT for over 25 years, is that a clear enough statement?..
This very race was the fastest 1500 in history. And what a race by Noah to push him to this All time champion performance.. who knows maybe this gen... 2024
This El Guerrouj race and the 2004 Olymoic games races in the 1500m and 5000m are the best races I've ever seen. Looking at him run and increase his speed every lap is just fantastic. Greatness in full display!
Noa ngeny was great pace maker . Two world recold of elguerrouj 1500 and mile. Ngeny was a key for those times. He deserved to be recorded as a gold champion olympic in Sydney
@@bcffoot431 What? Did you even read my comment?? This wasn't meant as a jab at El G, I was by no means saying that this wasn't legit. I foud it annoying, because it would be great to see his splits in real time. I would've been pissed if I was watching this in 1998, knowing that it was a serious WR attempt, but having no idea if he was en route to the world record or not. I don't think I've ever seen another race from El G (championships, Golden League or Gran Prix) where the clock (on screen at least) didn't work. Really bad and unfortunate timing with this one. "Cry more" what a stupid response.
Durant la course la plus importante de l'histoire du 1500m, qui dure 3 minute et demi, le commentateur de canal+ :" on va les laisser un peu pour vous donner quelques résultats ..." 💀
It really is amazing but amazing for all those athlete running times. 400m world class athlete pace is 4 sequential 11 second 100m sprints. Marathon 26 sequential 4 minute 40 second miles. All athletes are super humans to me…
