The sport is becoming more and more physical. They are not machines and have to travel over multiple time zones. They are independent contractors so if they don't play they don't make money. The answer is to cut back on mandatory tournaments
Someone might say that the calendar was always like that, with 4 slams, a pack of 500 and 1000 masters and the Davis cup, among other minus tournaments and the ATP finals. As tennis becomes a more physical sport, i can understand what the players feel. Personally, i would set Davis cup every 2 years for starters,is a team competition that gets in the middle of the calendar stretching players schedule. Also, i would rather separate clay French open with Wimbledon. They are attached one against the other, and with a week or two for recovery. The rest of the calendar is up to the players to tackle on convenience. Just an opinion.
Coco Gauff tennis has been awful this past year after winning the US Open. Good decision to look for another trainer to take her tennis to competitive and winning standard. 😅😂
Rennae Stubbs' professional record in singles was 20-170 and her coaching background was for less than a year for any given player. She was a good doubles player in an era where few top level players played doubles. Her coaching of Serena Williams was for a single tournament and Serena lost in the 3rd round. I think Stubbs needs to gain a little humility and be a little more courteous and respectful to both coaches and players whose career results are well beyond her own.
Big deal. She hasnt had 80 % of all flagrant fouls committed against her. She hasnt been attacked by other black or white players like caitlyn clark. She is nowhere near as good or as important to the league as caitlyn clark.
I believe Genie. If it was shade, she would have said "Money can't buy you a US Open title" or "Money CAN buy you a final". People are always looking for drama and choose to misinterpret
There is no advantage nor any special treatment in getting caught in a positive doping test let alone in dealing with it. This is something which can happen to any players and it's an absolute tragedy for a player when it happens. Most players (especially those who talked about special treatment) don't have a clue about this unfortunate event and don't believe the same can happen to them. They should take it as an opportunity to study how doping really works and try to be prepared if and when it happens to them.
First of all, you're describing the pre-tournament press conference, not the post victory press conference. Second, the J in his name is pronounced as a Y. Third, he didn't get wiped out in the first match. He lost the first set and then blew his opponent off the court. Fourth, he had nothing to do with Alcaraz and Djokovic being eliminated...he did not "blow" past them. Next, most players have lawyers at their disposal. That Sinner's were effective doesn't mean he had some kind of unfair advantage. After that, I gave up. You don't know who you're talking about. You don't know how to pronounce his name and you haven't seen the press conference or any of his matches. Why are you even talking?
Listen, when will be the end of this on and on and on talk about the Sinner situation? The man was cleared, that should be enough! They are so many ready to blame him in a world where any responsible parent should never encouraged his children to practice performance sports
The real reason is that Sinner doesnt want his doping positive results to be talked about a lot and thats why he is ignoring it, hoping it will fade away....
@@nikosgr9290 you are completely missing the point. For one thing Kyrgios keeps talking about massage cream, which it wasn't. Sometimes he makes out it's nothing personal against Sinner but just about a level playing field at other time he pretty much accuses him of cheating. He has not even bothered to look into what the process was and why the provisional suspension was successfully appealed, neither has he looked at comparable cases to Sinner's for lower ranked players which had the same rulings. No, he simply shoots his mouth off. Then he insults Anna Kalinskaya for good measure. Sinner did not simply state his innocence- there was a full investigation and independent tribunal. And btw WADA are not disputing the facts of the case only the 'fault and negligence' ruling so Kyrgios is again wide of the mark when he gloatingly posts stuff about Jannik not being so innocent after all. Frankly, it's pretty despicable and Sinner is right not to give him the energy of responding or stoop to his level.
I hate player blaming their coach! The player has to hit the ball. No matter what the coach say it’s the players job to execute! Plus the player isn’t the only one on the court. Sometimes regardless you aren’t going to have answer. Your ranking doesn’t guarantee you a win 🤷🏾♂️
Coco is not chained to BG. I don't think a new coach would make any decisive difference. Coco's tennis IQ is amateurish at best. She was thoroughly outplayed by Emma on both Grand slams.
Am I the only one that think CoCo is game doesn’t live up to the hype. Last year to me Sabalenka choked as opposed to Grauff winning. Just saying. Time will tell. Tennis powers to be juicing her head and now she has to back it up. She is no Serena, Hingis , Seles, or etc type teen prodigy. Their games were clearly special and you knew they would win many slams. I don’t see that in CoCo at all.
It may be that Brad's more analytical approach to coaching does not fit well with Coco's intuitive style of playing. I have the sense that a coaching change is on the horizon.
