If the tub continues to wobble, you can be truly vintage and use the standard leveling kit from the United States Mint - pennies, nickels or dimes wedged under the feet. Yes, this really is the way to level the tub because the feet are not adjustable. When we used to remove claw foot tubs from old buildings we would always find coins under the feet. This is the only solution we know of for leveling old tubs.
I love my ckawfoot tub. However there is now a leak coming from the pipes attached to the overhead shower. Hard to describe but I can't figure out just where the water is coming from or how to fix it. Any videos on this issue? Thanks.
Love victorians, but had to stop watching for all the boring pauses on close ups of knick-knacks. In the future, focusing on larger shots of the rooms and architecture would be nice. I don't think most of us care about getting a close-up of the plants and shelf tchotchkes.
This is very classic Swedish. I used to make it all the time as a small child. My mom's reciepe was with eggs instead of coffee and no vanilla powder but it can vary so much. There is a variety of this with less cocoa powder that is really good too called directly translated "Oat-ball". But sometimes I just buy the "Delicato-ball" which is the same as this but bought in stores.
It's possible to take advantage of that back far left corner, and add shelves, and a towel rack. All necessary items could be accessed easily. It just makes these tubs really work. Also Target Threshold brand has a thicker shower curtain, that's holds a really nice form in the tub, compared to the cheaper ones, which I was alway's correcting.Add the black clips for style points.
I am a second generation swedish american. All 4 of my grandparents were swedish. I have everything you mentioned except the lighted stars. I need to make a trip to ikea. My dala horses stay out all year. Two of them belonged to my grandparents and are quite old. Such treasures. But you didnt mention lutefisk! Yuk.......😂

Sure! But you should make sure you have additional reinforcing in your floor to hold any tub (+ water + people is a lot of weight). In older homes the floor joists and flooring in bathrooms often have water damage so have it checked as you renovate.
If you close up the back door, it will make taking anything up or down to the basement quite awkward. It would be difficult to move the bathroom door to the dining room, so maybe a sliding door if you end up leaving the configuration as is. I think the biggest issue in older homes will always be insulation, and it can be difficult to tackle without disrupting features on the inside or outside. Depending on what historical feature you’d rather keep undisturbed, you can make a plan from there. As there is no vapour barrier, you have to remember to not trap moisture inside the walls and rot all your structure when doing renos.
I agree with your pros and cons. I will add pro: the back curve of almost all are more comfortable. I've only had one tub that wasn't curved perfectly for a soak. Con: They are deep, so to have a deep soak, it uses more water than a smaller tub.
I just moved into an apartment with a clawfoot tub. So far, it's a freaking nightmare. I wish the rod that went around the top was wider, so much of the tub space is wasted while showering. I'm trying to figure out a way to expand it so I can utilize more of the space. It's almost impossible to shave with the little amount of room n nowhere to put my foot lol. I miss a regular shower so much😭 n all the places for storage.
get you some suction cups at the dollar store and hot glue them to the curtain, then you can pull the curtains more outward and stick them to the sides of the tub.
@@rozyy15 they almost all have magnets these days. The magnets are not stronger than the force of suction created by the hot air inside the shower. They *do* make shower magnets but you have to buy them separately.
Thank you for a wonderful video...I love your suggestions however replacing my incandescents for LED's is not going to happen. If you do research on the fractionated light spectrum of LED's, you may understand more fully.
I'm so glad you liked it! Interesting about LED's. In my previous video I talked about getting 2700 or 2200 Kelvin LEDs so that they are warm color temperature. (Cool blue light can keep you awake...it's like daylight) I just read about the light flickering with dimming them though. It hasn't been an issue for me but could be for certain light fixtures or folks sensitive to flickering. If you have a headache or are dizzy it might be a flickering light! I have a house built in 1902 and I totally understand the no subfloor issue! I had a dog that peed on the living room floor and it dripped into the unfinished basement lol.

A toothpick works great too, but it tends to be harder to control. The pencil shape, since it's a cone, works well but maybe a manicure wooden nail stick would be even better?!

Where can you find the candles for the angel chimes? I have the angel chimes but only one set of candles so I haven't burned them yet. I don't want to use them up without more ready to go.
