Welcome to TightWadDIY. I am a Do-It-Yourselfer who loves working around the house and in the yard. As I complete repairs or upgrades needed around my house, I record them and share them with you! I do the research to find the best practices for each project and use the skills acquired while being a school teacher to create clear, concise instructional videos. Please let me know if you have any special requests, and I will do my best to record a video or answer your question directly. Be sure to subscribe and turn on notifications so you never miss a video!
Hi guys Honda Accord 2009 euro. One light didn't work when I was opening the door or when I was pressing the switch. The other light was working with the door and when I was pressing the switch but stopped working as well. I swapped the switches ftom left to right without removing the wires from the assembly just snapped them out with a screwdriver. Both lights are on when I open the doors and when I press the switches!
Thank you for this! Unfortunately, we are stuck removing the old faucet, because the bold underneath the sink is very rusted. It's also bevelled, and an adjustable wrench won't grip it. We have every size of crescent wrench EXCEPT 3/4, which is the one we need.
Interesting video but I am glad that I live in the UK (alas no longer part of the EU) we do use predominantly metric but are also somewhat hybrid so most of the tape measures bought locally here are metric and imperial.
Hi! My AC was “fixed” by my apartment complex (it had a plug in to the unit and I didn’t have the plug so they put a new one in and it worked great) but 3 days later the top fan stopped working. I will turn it on, it’ll work for 15 minutes, and then you’ll hear the compressor running but the top fan doesn’t move. I tried moving it with a stick and it doesn’t go. I tried turning it off and back on, no go. I cannot seem to get it open to look at my capacitor because it’s like every panel is screwed into both the top and bottom. My apartment complex sucks with maintenance issues and I cannot afford an HVAC guy rn. How do I get a good look at what I need? Is it the capacitor or the fan motor?
Indeed I found some very useful information here I once upon a time heard it said information is hard to find I do think it to be true How ever it is again in the search and how badly an individual wants to learn the answer Been fighting with stuff someone else did And trying to get it back to right Always the same thing with a used anything Now I am neither satisfied yet to say I have the answer but I can say I know it's closer to the point Yep to many things can cause a no start like in cars although very different With what I learned here should be able to get back out there and cut some grass Thank you for shareing
I just bought the ZT1 50 2023 I'm glad mine doesn't shut off like this. They must have changed something. That Kawasaki motor is a beast run so smooth.
I also have problems with the plastic spikes shearing off every 2 or 3 years, when gusty winds hit. My spikes are 1/4 inch, so if I need to pull one out that is sheared flush to the wall, I drill a 1/8 hole in the center. Then I screw in a drywall screw almost all the way in. Then a claw hammer will pull it right out. 😀 I am going to replace everything with screws and anchors like in your video.
@TightWadDIY ok, that makes sense. In my case, the holes are already there, and originally they were all 1/4" but some of them seem a little larger. So I think your idea with plastic anchors that expand outward from the screw is the best way to go.
@TightWadDIY One more question, please. I'm not an expert at hardware sizes. In your video, I see the Everbuilt plugs are #10-12 x 1-1/2". That length is perfect, but I'm not good at the diameter size. My holes are 1/4" so is #10-12 right for them?
Hey, my toilet is running, and the back part of the toilet isn’t filling up. It’s almost like a whirl pool and the water continues to stay at the bottom, what should I do?
Either your flapper is bad or your seat ring is bad depending on the type of toilet you have. There is a water valve behind your toilet that will cut off the water.
Check the links in the video description. I have step by step guides for the two main types of toilets. Mansfield toilets have a tube in the center of the tank and most others have a flapper.z
I about got divorced changing min last night. Had to give the ol' lady a little dad treatment " hold that light right here!" anyway thanks for the allen wrench tip
I don’t know if I have a Delta or not. But my hot water was dripping and now it’s a small stream. I have to turn the hot water off completely. It’s dripping from the faucet, not from the shut off. I have calcium bad and we just had our soft water system tank cleaned out. I believe it’s calcium. I’m afraid I’m gonna mess something up. I read that you shouldn’t use Vaseline for waterproof grease but for this application only, would it hurt?
