My name is Ossie and I've been collecting, painting and playing games with miniatures on and off since the late 80s. These days it's very much more on than off. I can't resist trying new games and new ranges of miniatures. My enduring passion is the Middle-earth Strategy Battle Game which I've been collecting and painting for 20 years now. I'm using this channel to share the projects me and my friends are undertaking and to just enthuse about this daft hobby.
I plan painting and converting videos, battle reports, unboxing videos, roundtable discussions, terrain bulding videos, podcast type chats and general gaming hype. Love the hype. I hope to cover everything from the big Warhammer games, Marvel Crisis Protocol, Star Wars games, Necromunda and Blood Bowl right down to small board games and the games I play with my kids. If they've got miniatures then I'm interested. You can never have too many minis.
@@toomanyminis. Yeah .. I wanna pick the right one haha. But yeah... As I know myself it won't stay just one. Still the first one is important. In 40k or Bolt Action the firat Armies (Deathwatch and the German Army) kept me in Love for the games while learning ...
Big fan of this kit, contains all of the command squad options. Brood Brothers will look fantastic, shame they can only be used in the one detachment now, in 40k. GW is really making me build a full GSC themed Guard army. Damn
I got this box a few days ago, will the brood brothers upgrade sprue release on its own at some point? Or will I have to recast it to make more of these heads.
My guess is it won’t be available on its own. It will just be in the KT box. Because it’s very specifically for making these specialists. The old upgrade frame is still on the shop but temporarily out of stock. I think for heads the best source is just the neophytes kit. It has a lot of spares.
@@toomanyminis. yeah but I specifically want the helmeted brood brother heads. Guess I’ll oyumaru more of them. How long until each killteam in the box is released on its own? The scouts and scorpions are now out on their own but the nightmare killteams still haven’t released
@jame9277 the time varies. You’re right it would be great if they released it on its own. Normally the previous kill teams come out on their own around the time the next box comes out. So I’d expect the Nightmare ones soon.
The video is really cool, but please don't lick the tool after you put greenstuff on it. Much better to just have a cup of water and dip the tool when needed
Man, I love the paint scheme. Looks like you are geared to run brood brothers if you want. Any idea what detachments you are wanting to try? Got any models that you want to add to your cult next?
I want to try Brood Brothers and probably the mobile detachment. I think I’ll buy a new combat patrol for the 2nd ridgerunner and jackal teams. I know they’re not considered very powerful detachments but they’ve got the most model appeal for me. Also the vanilla detachment is always open.
21:56 Not sure if it was discussed/decided prior, but rules as written, the Troll would not need to take a Jump Test for the fence (as it is not half height of the model). With the direct path, he’d get in on Durin. 😢
The lord teminus got that Dawi pose points for that, I want that knight questors head for my wolves proper wild Conan feels and that bearded liberator too. I like that the new skaven have more rat friends with them thats great
Like DAS or the very light weight stuff my kids use? I’m planning to use DAS with my textured rolling pins as that looks better than the miliput I use currently. Always up for new ideas.
Hey handsome. Can this kit be used to make 2x 5 man units? 1x sniper 1x heavy bolter or missile launcher And 3 what ever else ? Is there enough to make 2 sets .
@Michaelkayslay ah no. So you can make two five man squads but you couldn’t make two squads with the same loadout unless you kitbashed in parts from some other models. There is one of each of the specialist weapons per box.
@toomanyminis. wait a second. I jist looked at sprue online. There's 2 sniper rifles 2 missile launchers . Surely you could 2x 5man units? Each unit could have a sniper and heavy bolter
Very well done. I help run a Kill Team club, and while Scouts aren’t considered the most powerful right now, I’m always excited to see them on the table.
@@toomanyminis. Perhaps you should do a comparison video on pin lining options, I think I saw my suggestion on a RU-vid video, but as yet noone has done a review of all the options.
How bad would you say the fumes are with these? Generally the main thing discouraging me from using oils for pin washing is that even when applying them outside with sansodor "odourless thinner" I always end up with a headache afterwards.
No headaches for me and I don’t dislike the smell of this. So an open window nearby is enough I think. It’s also fairly quick drying. Maybe an hour? Unlike oils.
Hey I've been researching Tami toya panel liner and the results you're getting look great. That X-20A is an acrylic paint thinner so I don't think it would be compatible with the enamel formula of the panel liner, which explains why you're having troubles with it. Maybe you just held up the wrong bottle, the enamel thinner is X-20.
Yes with a few more ruins in there that I didn’t count. I think I had to use a little from the third mansion kit. Either the steps or the rails. Definitely recommend a third mansion kit for all the nice bits BUT don’t forget we are due to get a big box of this stuff bundled together. Overdue.
@@toomanyminis. oh we are? Didn't know that, assumed they were going to be separate since it's been months since these came out. I thought GW usually does combined box first, then separate as their MO.
@MAstaKFC Rohan got a big box at launch but Dol Guldur and Osgiliath had to wait. They anounced it in December as a new year thing but it’s nearly April so 🤷🏼♂️
