Guitar player here...always found this opening to the solo very intriguing and mysterious! it's got a strange rhythm almost like Polka music when slowed down...and many youtubers get it wrong!
drippin in finesse,it’s da best, never or less, tryna press, use some Crest,I suggest on a quest flew da coop, which a nest, and salute to a troop as you play da flute, and it’s a hoot, like a owl and towel and den howl like a wolf and coyote and den shoot da hoop like Kobe
The fact that its played twice in sync and slightly different in a way that it basically becomes a symphony of solos is wild And i dont know what the guy did i am not a professional in music at all But nothing quite seems to match this recording of the solo No adaptation no cover nothing quite replicates it the same
This is my cover of this 14 years ago, still can hardly believe I managed to learn it ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-v4bthPrKMRc.htmlsi=BFEKZ_P2aIFFQ68s
They told him, "Don't you ever come around here" "Don't wanna see your face, you better disappear" The fire's in their eyes and their words are really clear So beat it, just beat it You better run, you better do what you can Don't wanna see no blood, don't be a macho man You wanna be tough, better do what you can So beat it, but you wanna be bad Just beat it (beat it), beat it (beat it) No one wants to be defeated Showin' how funky and strong is your fight It doesn't matter who's wrong or right Just beat it (beat it) Just beat it (beat it) Just beat it (beat it) Just beat it (beat it, uh) They're out to get you, better leave while you can Don't wanna be a boy, you wanna be a man You wanna stay alive, better do what you can So beat it, just beat it You have to show them that you're really not scared You're playin' with your life, this ain't no truth or dare They'll kick you, then they'll beat you Then they'll tell you it's fair So beat it, but you wanna be bad Just beat it (beat it), beat it (beat it) No one wants to be defeated Showin' how funky and strong is your fight It doesn't matter who's wrong or right Just beat it (beat it), beat it (beat it) No one wants to be defeated Showin' how funky and strong is your fight
Even if one masters playing the solo itself, EVH has such a unique timing and touch in how EVERY note is delivered.... It's NEW to me every time i hear it.... I remember hearing this for the first time as a young kid in the early 80's and watching the gang fight sequence .. I WAS MESMERIZED and that feeling hasn't faded... WOW is all i can say..!!
This is a revelation. I always heard the reverb on the background, but the delay, never before. And how the bridge pickup is huge for the solo's tone. The greatest eye opener to me, though, is how many staccato notes he uses. That's not easy!
