Founded in 1750, Hambledon Cricket Club was once the most powerful club in the country and earned its reputation as the “Cradle of Cricket”.
The club now plays at the idyllic Ridge Meadow - it's home since the 1780s - and fields three adult league teams on Saturdays. We play friendly matches on Sundays, and occasionally mid-week. We also have a thriving Colts section, with over 150 junior playing members.
Subscribe to our channel for Saturday league matches from our 1st XI, Sunday friendlies, tape ball videos, and history about the club.
I am glad you won. That was a bad decision that both Captains should have been able to rectify. You cannot be bowled on a wide so the umpire should have recognised he needed to change the decision...at which point it becomes unfair to the batsman, hence it would have been called a deadball. The opposition were very unsporting at insisting the umpire 'had made his decision'. Not often yuouo see this sort of behaviour. Great performance by your guys :)
Hi that’s not what happened. The fielding team had 3 men on the boundary in the second over (powerplay 1) which isn’t allowed. It wasn’t seen other than by the batter but that’s life and it happens. We’ll move onto the next one
Another easy win. Starting to think your too good for this league, especialy when the Dons bat first, leaving a huge total to chase. Rule no.1 never leave a straight ball, which the oppo did on numerous occasions. If you do, at least stick your leg in the way, hoping the umpire doesnt notce it lol. Great allround performance again, and well done
Great win. Looked a bit dodgy at 29 for 4, especially after losing Chris Pratt quite early. Well done Spencer and Rollo for getting you over the line. Unbeaten start to the season, and back home next weekend. Thanks for the content
If you are the captain of Gosport you should be having a good hard look at yourself. You have a team 30/4 and you take your opening bowler off and then when you finally bring him back you decide to bowl him from the opposite end. That’s a head scratcher.
Sorry but the copyright images just put me off - such a shame. I have people taking frames from my content and as far as I am concerned that is just another way to get my channel noticed. You could select the box saying other people cannot use your content? This is the first cricketing channel that I have noticed this being used. Good luck for your season - it would have been nice to see more greatg performances :)
Another dominant performance. The opening partnership with Chris and George carried on where they left off last week, and the middle order carried on the good work. Posting a total of over 220 is always going to be a problem for the opposition with the Dons attack this season, as yet again it proved to be. Unbeaten, and another excellent team performance.
Ruthless batting and should have given the top order practice for better league oponents. Must have been one of your highest ever scores. Didnt actually think their bowling was that bad. Just shows how good the Dons can be. Thanks Spencer for the coverage
@@spencerleclercq3589 ok thanks Spencer but imagine you are still captaining the side, albeit you are right down the batting order. Thank Chris Pratt and his family for me ok. Great batting from him and the others on this occasion, and looks like a fun season coming up. Also, great to see you filming again. Thanks
Good to see you back Spencer. Wondered why you disappeared last season, but put it down to the fact, that the season didnt go as well as expected. Good to see cricket being played in whites also. Must be due to your heritage, of being the very first cricket club in england. Heres to a good season, and maybe some odd commentary now and again. Team looks similar as last year, but with some good hitters amongst the newbies
@@Lecky19YMA6 Has to be straight from the shoulder to release or bent from shoulder to release. It isn't as it straightens from bent. Needs to correct it or he'll get called for it "unexpectedly" soon.
@@sassasins031Nope hes fine, ICC Ruling 'An Illegal Bowling Action is where a player is throwing rather than bowling the ball. This is defined by the ICC as being where the player’s elbow extends by an amount of more than 15 degrees between their arm reaching the horizontal and the ball being released. Match Officials in international cricket use the naked eye and their cricketing experience to decide whether they believe a player may be using an Illegal Bowling Action and, if so, they will submit a report.'
@@Lecky19YMA6 Rule 2.2 of the ICC ruling you mention above. What are your thoughts? Due to the fact that there is even a debate it would be best for the bowler to be independently assessed via the I.C.C. rules.
An outright chucker! He’s going to get called for no-ball as soon as a decent square leg umpire stands in one of his games. He needs to be sent first corrective action. The longer he gets away with chucking the worse he’ll do it?
Shocking batting. You need to move the camera around or supply commentary, at least follow the shots to make this of some interest to neutrals. Sanderstead set the standard but others are now following suit.
Hi Bob, we are currently looking into commenting on the highlight videos. Unfortunately we don’t have anyone who can operate the camera whilst the game is happening.
