I never realized that fish could get the bends. How do you know after you pull it out if it has the bends or not? Also, I was told that some fishermen will puncture the swim-bladder. As a marine biologist, do you know if a fish will survive that if they release it after?
@@cynthiamartel4127 so lake trout are actually special amongst fish. They burp as they’re coming up allowing them to regulate much better than so many species. If you do reel a fish up very fast they look all bloated and it will even be visible out their mouth sometimes. With certain fish such as a Goliath grouper you actually carry a deflation device to pop the swim bladder allowing The fish to swim back down safely.
That don't have an anti coagulant their teeth are just razor sharp which makes its harder for your body to clot the cut. Similar if your cut with a razor blade.
Ya I was skeptical myself if it was just a fisherman’s tale or scientific. However after testing it out I could see it being a hoax. Guess will see what happens when I catch a good pike 😂
@@Kaithefishguy May want to try being more controlled with a pike xD I got an infection from a pike bite before, and that sucked Or have antibiotic/antiseptic on standby
Only issue with using small spinners like this is that pickerel will completely throat them, and they can kill them, standard rapalas are the best thing for catching them
@@GraemeMacmillan-e7h ya I have a special ability for that. I have been unhooking stuff so long just go through the gills and pop them out without ripping the gills. Also pliers do the job but if your careful pickerel rarely die. Rapalas are good too but spinners and paddle tails always catch me more.
