This is my journey from a loud belligerent drunk to the mild mannered sober adventurer I am today. My attempt to make up for lost time. To try and live life to its fullest. This is a channel about adventures and things. Its a geocaching/traveling/comedy vlog. Depending on what you consider funny I guess. Hopefully me is what you find funny. I will be uploading a new video every week of my adventures and things. The things part is mostly my random thoughts I have on my adventures and then I act them out (terribly) or try to figure out the answers to the questions that pop in my head while oot and aboot adventuring. I hope you enjoy my channel and subscribe. Even if you don't like it you can subscribe. Also like my videos, I would like yours... probably.
Full view Mike - I enjoyed that mate. It was a fairly gnarly trail and wild out back. The walkways were handy - let's you enjoy the forest. Some good pitches and views as well as cabins. Me? I'd get my head down in them for the night. Well, you made it out alive without being murdered. What with the fist pump at the end that was a result. Good going bro. All the best. Mark
It was some great wild out back for sure, loved the hike. I would love to put my head down in those cabins, however they are for the people that maintain the trail. You actually have to book them. It was nice making it out alive thats for sure
I am not sure, it was pretty fast and the name would indicate yes. It was called the dart. To be honest I am jot too sure, I feel it could have gone faster lol.
Very nice! This is Maggie's last full week of summer vacation. We had new neighbors move in around the corner and their back yard and mine connect. The couple graduated highschool with Sarah and they have kids! Maggie finally met them and came in to ask if she could talk to the new kids. So I went out and Maggie is telling me about the kids. Look at them all ,Gramma! And that lady birthed them all! Lisa and her husband have four kids. A nine year old son, twin identical girls six years old and a two year old very blond haired son. The girls are Serenity and Elaina. Maggie is about six months younger than them. They have been the hit of the summer and are becoming fast friends. Thank God! There is only so much awful kid programming I can stomach.
Great to see you out on the trail Mike. I think to be fit is one of the key tips - how can you enjoy it if you're totally f...ed? Thanks for the tips. You've inspired me to try such a video myself. All the best bro. Mark
Excellent, I cant wait to see what tips you have Mark. I bet you are a well of knowledge. Ya being fit is probably the best way to enjoy a good hike. Take care over yonder.
I know Ireland is a beauty, Mike. I only live across the water and have never been but I am planning on it without the juice. Ha ha! When over there I'll certainly check them beaches out. Thanks for the to do list. Mark
Ya it is a beautiful country, plenty of things to see and do. I dont blame you for not going over yet it is pretty expensive. It also seems where you live looks quite lovely as well. Thanks for stopping by
Hi, which stabilisation did you use on this? the normal rocksteady or horizon balance? Id use mostly for POV from my backpack mount, or from chest with magnetic strap. Im planning to use this for hiking too, and try to grab a good setting for it for lowlight wood area +more sunny ones with the d-log. So far Ive seen -2 both sharpness and noise reduction, 1/60- 1/100 on 4k/30 with Auto white balance with iso set to 100-1600. i have an action 2 on all auto with rocksteady the first hiking experience was quite bad with a lot if shakings in low light. next time I take both 2 and 4 with manual settings too.. just need to catch a good weather on day offs in scotland :D Thank you in advance :)
I used both in the vid but mostly for what you are using it for I used horizontal balance. I found it worked better with the side to side movement. When I used it for handheld I used rocksteady+ Dlog is great it shoots in h.265 which needs a lot of computer power. I noticed with mine when I got lazy and went full auto the footage would stutter because it drops the shutter speed so low, so ya going manual is a great idea. That weather can be a wee bit of a tadger from what I hear. Hope the hike goes well
@@AdventuresThings thank you very much! I will try horizontal, probably fits better as I tend to walk leaning side to side more than normal walk especially on steep places😁
Aww what a cool country! My favourite thing we did I think was the cliff walk and getting lost in the beach, I’m still confused on that one!! I did that drive and didn’t see anything and it only took me 20 min?! 😂
What a fantastic video! Your guide to the top 5 things to do in Ireland without involving drinking is both refreshing and insightful. The activities you highlighted offer a great way to explore and enjoy Ireland’s rich culture and stunning landscapes. Thanks for providing such valuable and diverse suggestions!
Thank you very much I am glad you enjoyed it. Thank you for your kind words. If you go I hope you enjoy and if you have questions let me know, I will do my best to answer
@@sozekeysersoze Thank you and thank you for watching. I did it about a month ago. Three weeks from now the trail will be pretty dry. There will still be plenty of water sources but the muddy bits will mostly be dried up. There will still be some so be prepared for that. How long are you taking to do the trail?
Wow this looks amazing, good for you! I would have loved to do this hike with you but we would still be out there, well I would be 😅! It was so relatable watching your frustration, I know the feeling but it makes it sweeter when you push through! Finally, I love the slow-mo ocean shots and the one with you by sunset, amazing views! You should be super duper proud!!
Wow! If you are into treks, you should look at doing the Chadar Trek in Zanskar, Ladakh India one day. Very different kind of vistas. But then again, once in a lifetime experience.
@@AdventuresThings things are good. We went to Conesus lake and had a picnic lunch and went swimming. Maggie told me the other day that she can purr like a cat. Oh really? Yup but I need to have boogers in my throat to do it.😂😂 Boogers! Also, why am I still finding that red lipstick? This time it was rolled up in a McDonald's small french fry bag. I have found it three times since school got out. That or she has more than one tube. Either way it keeps haunting me by appearing out of nowhere! Stay safe and healthy. See you on the next installment!
@@kathywrightjohnson6804 haha, that darn lipstick will be the bane of your existence. Haha, need to have boogers in your throat for a good meow. Take care Kathy, good to hear from you.
D- Log M is pretty cool to go with respect to color corrections and color grading. If you get your settings right in the pro way, you are all good to go. For such situations, you could also use the 25fps as well to allow more light into the sensor or so as they say. It would be much better.
I have been playing with the settings more and you are right it is pretty cool. For most of the low light have been shooting in the 23.98 fps and it definitely helps. Thanks for stopping by and for the pointers.
@@AdventuresThings always welcome . I use the Osmo Action 4 now . Have been using the 2, then 3 and now 4. I’ve never ever used A GoPro so I don’t know how it works or how reliable it is.
I remember Witty's back in the 70's... the mud was awesome! Being a kid, we lived on pears rd. and I would walk down there with an old tire tube at low tide and just forget time.. it's really changed since then. Thanks for posting the drone shots.
Caveman of BC Mike. I like that mate. They were all pretty gnarly bit of course the best was the one that revealed the waterfall. Who wouldn't like such a surprise? Awesome mate as was your story telling as ever. All the best. Mark
I so enjoyed that trip Mike end to end mate. The ice cream? What a funny and fun moment with the grannies too and ha the wife. Good to see you over this end on the Emerald Isle. You has such a great time dancing it seemed as you went on your way. Yeah, much more to do than whisky, beer and oh gin. Ha ha! Loved it bro. Take care out there. Mark
Thanks Mark haha definitely not wife lol. It was great I would love to go back over. The grannies were amazing and Sean. There is so much to life other than whiskey, beer or gin. Take care over there Mark, hopefully people aren’t leaving too much rubbish around.
@@AdventuresThings A pleasure as always Mike. No, just buddies I know that. A great trip - see back over here one day. Absolutely, more to life than just the juice. Ah, always plenty of rubbish.
Always come back to this video or it pops up in my feeds again. Tourism sure has changed much here. I started doing 360° videos of The County as my content. My little videos don’t make any kind of impact on gaining tourism further. That’s coming whether I do a video or not. My goals are to get in and around everywhere for those in nursing homes and the elderly living at home still that can’t get out anymore. Many of the locals are enjoying the content. There are still some that have negative comments based on “Don’t add to the tourism”. At my age, I don’t care anymore. It’s changing and it’s not stopping. Now that Base31 is here and going to build a 7500 home small city of its own, I’m capturing the county now before it’s all changed.
Ya tourism was changing the landscape even when I lived there. That was 80’s, 90’s. When I left in 2001 you could see the changes happening. There’s not a lot you can do about it now. It something that happens. Enjoy it while you can. The funny thing is I never intended this video to be any sort of tourism video, it was meant to be my reflection on growing up there and coming back years later. It is a beautiful place that I feel very fortunate to have experienced before it changed too much. Its good to hear you are capturing it now. Its cool that other people can experience the county through your vids as well. Take care and enjoy the next few weeks of the county before it gets too crazy
@@AdventuresThings I’m getting the same with my videos. I just don’t care anymore. They don’t have to watch them. 😂. Take care. Looking forward to more of your vids.
