Great point, Jon J. In the USA, the Trump supporters (mostly conservative Republicans) are willing to destroy America's so called Democracy if they do not win the upcoming election. When power and control are the main objectives of a political group, the will of We the People is expendable, and dictators rise to power by stepping on their countrymen. Democracy on the wrong hands becomes tyranny which breeds rebellion, and families are divided and destroyed. United we stand, divided we fall.
I agree with that! Raising kids is already a challenge by itself. So let's be kind with ourselves! Also I would like to bring up the importance to actually listen to our kids feelings because that is most of the time the reason why they have tantrums and/or refuse their food. Look into Aletha Solter and Marion Rose's work to understand what I mean. Is there actually "spoiled" people or simply unheard & un-understood ones?
No omelets. Explain to them about handicapped people. How they need everything special because they can't figure stuff out or they're physically unable. They need special food. Are you handicapped?
We only give our children a choice on their birthday.. we know many families with monster children because they accept the children's agency on food. I say this to myself (as to my children).. "I love you now but I love your future more!", so you must accept new/different food. No choice!

Eating eggs only, later they will be stunted and left behind by their friend who eat variety of food and their friends will be taller and healthier too. I was a picky eater too when I was a kid. That's how parents end up with selfish, ungrateful , disrespectful and bullying kids in their old age. They blame all these bad behaviour on these adult children when they are solely to be blamed for not disciplining them from the cradle up to adulthood. Disciplining does not always mean corporal punishment. It means also correcting them gently or severely depending on the situation. You don't want to ask a child what he wants to eat or if he/ she wants to eat in blue bowl or green bowl. The first lesson that a child needs to learn is complete obedience to his parents provided they themselves are obedient to God.
I know I need to be a bit harder on my child. He gets it so easy because i had it so hard as a child and didn't want him to live the same as I did. But I didn't need to go so opposite. There's balance.
