I had my first introduction to this band a couple of days ago in the best possible environment... live. A very polite Copenhagen festival I went to to see the Raveonettes, the Kills and Jack White. A nice millennial lineup for the over-30s. Everyone was very well behaved. Until this lot came on and it went ape. When they finished, calm returned. I knew NOTHING about them till then. And they blew my f..king head off. FWIW... my argument as a middle aged man in the comments is that they sound a hell of a lot like Space Ritual era Hawkwind. wind machine, sax, motorik, bass driven. And LCD SS? You're not wrong. But I've seen LCD live a couple of times. Like them a lot... but they don't even come close to these guys.

Agreed...this was a killer performance.. it was shocking for Rush fans because we thought they would never revisit 2112 in its entirety, other than the Overture. I honestly didn't think Geddy could have handled the vocals, it takes a really extreme approach both emotionally and with a wildly dynamic range to get to anything close to the shrieking banshee witch that was Geddy Lee in 1976, but by god, he tackled tbe beast and delivered a powerful rendition. I thought the outro was just as punchy and terrifying as the original...
Twelve string guitarist, Anthony Phillips made this so unique. While Peter Gabrial spun a story of Wolves, right out of something Jack London might have written. Beautiful flute harmony from Gabrial. Phillips would leave the group after they recorded this album. The reason was said to be stage fright. Genesis went on to continue creating awesome music. I suggest Firth of Fifth. off the Selling Englandl album. Happy listening
Feeling old, I remember my older brother playing this when it came out. I was ten. I finally managed to to see them live six years later in London. Hooked for life.
