I remember doing this in my high school choir. Our piano accompanist would help us rehearse being male himself. Being in high school, this wasn’t the easiest piece for us so there were many times were it felt frustrating to rehearse thing piece. Though a few days away from our concert, we pulled this song out and started singing. Before I knew it, we had just sang the whole thing without stopping. We look up at our accompanist and he slowly smiled, something he rarely did. “I want you guys to do it like that every time from now on.” He retired before I graduated and died the summer after my senior year due to cancer. But that smile he had that day is something that always will remember. Thank you for everything Jeff, your guidance meant the world to me and I will cherish it forever.
One of my favorite songs, by my all-time favorite gospel singers. His “Live in London” album has been SUCH an encouragement to me over the years and in my walk with the Lord. May God continue to bless his memory.
