The old geezers among us will remember the Max Power Citroen Saxo project car (about a quarter of a century ago!) whose ICE install looked kind of similar, fitted around the roll cage.

Also thing front door speakers need to be on display . Get Chris to bring the car back in and do the door speakers on pods. The look to nice to be behind the door card . Love the build 💪🏼
Looks a really good instal. I would like to update my door woofers with these Alplins as they are bright. What are the ohms, im hoping they are 2 ohms as they can be a direct replacement for the oems

This Z4 has the base sound system same as in my car, this system does not have an external amp from the factory. Z4s with better factory sound systems do come with an external amp which is mounted where you mounted the crossovers. To hear the sub properly don't you need to open the ski hatch pass through?
Hey joe bloggs, well if it didn’t have an external amp at the back then what the hell did i wire it up to 😆 funny you should bring this up as my next video is another z4 which does have the larger amp mounted where i put the crossovers but im also installing a DSP so took the factory amp out, as to the ski hatch, bass is non directional and is more about pressure, but there could be some small gains in opening the hatch, thanks for watching and commenting.
@@creativecarsounds4484 The base sound system in the E89 which is what this car had and what mine did, does not come with an external amp the amp is built into the head unit. Which is why it sounds so crap! You can tell if it’s a base system as there are no subs behind the seats in the bulkhead as per this car. What you showed on the left is the ULF or MULF Bluetooth combox and USB box. Only the upgraded sound systems option numbers S676A or S677A come with either a 245w or 650w amp respectively in both cases it’s mounted on the right where in the base sound system there is a blank space. In my car I upgraded the system adding a MMI CarPlay box and taking the feed from the speaker wires at the back of the head unit feeding it to an AudioControl LOC LC6i and from there feeding it to two amps one mounted on the right where you put crossovers powering the 8 speakers (I upgraded all speakers and added the door tweeters) and the other amp power two subs I mounted in the rear bulkhead in the same place where the factory subs are in the higher end factory options.
Bet your car sounds good, the recent Z4 I’ve filmed but not uploaded sounded great after the upgrade, its strange that you don’t think that the far left small box in the video with the heat sinks isn’t the amplifier as it was the last connection point on the audio network and the heavy wires that came out went straight to the speakers, it also had voltage increase when the volume changed, the Audison SLi4 connected to those wires and gave the exact signal needed for the sound system, found the part details BMW E89 2012 Z4 HARMAN BECKER AMP AMPLIFIER ACTIVE SOUND CONTROL UNIT E70 E71 X5 X6 9286863 B165 *218 maybe this car didnt have the full basic setup as the unit was made by Harman, must have been some sort of 1 up from basic
@@creativecarsounds4484 It is strange, my car has two boxes on the left but both are much larger than the little thing which you connected the amp to, no idea what that is in your customers car yet I am 100% certain the base 6 speaker system has a built in amp in the head unit with no external amp. Is the car UK spec? Yes mine sounds great but probably not as great as if I put a DSP amp in but hey ho it’s an upgrade for another day 😃. Look forward to your new Z4 video. 👍
Yeah its a UK spec, you should definitely add a DSP the difference is amazing, the next video will be up in about a week, its much better than this one, i think you’ll enjoy it 👍
Did you get all of the steering wheel control functions to work? I have only managed to get up/down arrows and volume up/down to be recognised on my head unit I am also using the CTSMC002.2 module also.
Hi Richard, to be honest i don’t remember if the exactly what worked, most stereo units don’t accept the phone buttons if those are ones not working, hops that helps
I wonder if the subwoofer magnet from 12 inch can damage the circuit board 3 inches directly under. The circuit board box looks like the 2 infront of the battery.
Hi Jin, thank for watching the video, I’ve never known for magnets to interfere with circuit boards, i guess if the boards contained old type magnetic relays then there could be an affect but after 2 years installed no problems have occurred, the way subwoofer magnets are designed the strong forces and inside the coil part, the outer magnetic fields drop of rapidly, ill let you know if anything happens and thanks for your concern
Can I ask u what did u have his bomba Bp20 settings at ? The gain the subsonic and the lpf I got mine set at 90 and what u have the phase at 0 or 180 or in between??? Plz let me know bc I listen to a lot of rap! Mine is in a Mazda cx50 with a 12 speaker Bose and the Bose got great highs and mids and it didn’t have lows so that’s y I got the bomba bp20 and it’s broken in I’ve had it like 4 months
Everyone has videos showing how to replace the front door speakers but nones done a video on replacing the rear speakers in a 3 door Evoque. I can't be the only one which would make it a popular video. Perhaps I'll figure out and upload a video on how not to do it lol 🤷♀

Hi there, that does sound odd, what amp and sub are you using as to get no bass at all means something is wrong with the wiring, even a sub not in a box produces some bass
