Hi my names Ash. I am a biker from the UK, England to be precise, i love riding all kinds of motorbikes, making videos and taking pictures, soo, i thought id share my experiences with all of you lovely people.
I had the TDM850 with the 180 crank, what an awesome bike, changed a few things, bars, tires, rear shock, exhaust and brakes what an amazing machine was just one weakness really that was it would suffer a bit in really bad rain and sometimes missfire or lose power. Always wanted to get a JMC raer swinger to carry a wider section rear wheel and tire, and upgrade the front yolks to carry better forks ..... i truly think Yamaha missed a trick with this awesome machine.
I've had 3 3vd first gen tdm 850s...did 100k+ miles on each of them. 27 track days! Yes it is a crack'n good bike! Can do anything! Hunt sport bikes on track! Jump across the continent. A great big guy bike (6'9 285 lb)...makes it easy to maintain a blistering pace on back road. Dominant on brakes...due to wheelbase(note brake limits are set by spring rate of front springs...I have monster high rate to deal with my weight and aggression of racing for 20 years) Great drift bike...had a race takeoff racing "wet" on it! An absolute doodle! Allowed casual driftage and steering with the rear!.. My only problem is not a big seller in the states...hard to find...I would like fi but I am fine with 360° crank. May be the greatest bike I've owned...owned about 60. Still have 7. It and yam are sr500 are only ones I've bought more than twice!...
@@AshMertVlogs Found out it has 27000. Just as much as my Dad's 2016 Tracer 900 Haha. Gonna check it out tomorrow. Im hoping the engine doesn't have any major issues like the seller said.
Mine is a 1995 I picked up back in June. I rode a new 1 in Italy back then, and always wanted 1. They sound almost identical despite mine being an 893. You are absolutely right. This is a keeper!
Was just looking for a late nineties 900cc and I'm going to check out a 97 Fireblade today, was going back and forth on it and a 99 C2 zx9. I'll probably be good either one I pick. Great video, not all over the road but still letting it shine in the higher revs ✌️
I actually cant remember what rpm it was at in top gear, but it wasnt anywhere near screaming, there pretty torquey from what i remember mate, only issue i had was with the carbs leaking fuel, changed the float needles and it was fine after that
Thank you, for a new rider.. id say there abit on the heavy side for pushing and slow manoeuvres, but there under powered for a 850cc with a good amount of low end torque so id say there fairly good for a new rider and they handle really well
Great! Very tractable engine ..will pull top gear from 1600 rpm. Great handling! Dominant on brakes. May seem too tall but most people do not adjust to their needs. If not 6'9 285 lbs....drop front 20-30 mm. Run on soft spring in back...soften rear preload
Hi can you please help me my spedometer is broken what do i need to replace to fix it? I cannot find any cable running from speedo to the wheel, is there something like a sensor?
TDM’s are cracking bikes 👍 I’ve had two Mk1s, they’re the best looking of the bunch. Got a TDM900 now, a great bike also but doesn’t have the looks of the Mk1.
I searched for years for a cbr900rr as it was the bike I also wanted since a teenager when my first bike was a Hero Honda cd100 sleek. I finally found a perfect condition Urban tiger sc28 at the age of 40 and I cannot agree with you more, it's the best bike I ever owned. Our bikes sound very similar.
Very nice the urban tiger design, unfortunately the oil pump broke while riding and the engine locked up in a big way, didnt have the time or money to repair or buy a engine so i sold it cheap, now i have a zx9r 1998, i love the thong to death!
