And a wonderful funny guy too. It was such a privilege & education to play with him, tour with him & laugh and learn. Miss him too, We all go one day, and maybe his flame burning so bright was why he left this realm before he turned 47. the band on this number: Mick - Leader & Lead Guitar me - piano George Meyers - Arp Solina String Synth Eric Parker - drums Martin Briley - bass Tom Morrongiello - rhythm guitar.

Heard this at age 13....52 years ago, when declaring yourself to be a Bowie fan was met with ridicule by David Essex and Rod Stewart loving fans.....I knew then Bowie was a genius, that his lyrics spoke to people at various depths depending on your life experience...and with age his lyrics became more profound at time went by

I’d never heard this version before, thanks for sharing. The clarity, the quality of his voice. Wonderful. It was the first single I bought, aged 13, so holds a special place for me.

I read somewhere That Heroes was meant to be sung as a duet with Bolan, but due to drugs and booze prior to the song,he collapsed mid song and Bowie sang it alone..

He had a really strong connection with the hum of his 12 string acoustic and this song exposed and revealed a lot to David I think 🙏🏼✌🏼

Love it! And I love the additional section with the saxophones at the end. Great to hear Woody and Visconti back doing the classic early Bowie songs, again that they originally performed on. together. cttcaegoaktd 😛😛😛😛😛😛😛😛😛

.. What to do? / What to say? / What to wear on a sunny day? // Who to phone? //Who to fight? / Who to dance with on a sunday night? // [Pre-Chorus] I'm reaching the very edge you know / Reaching the very edge/ I'm going to the other side this time / Reaching the very edge [Chorus] You're still breathing but you don't know why / Life's a bit and sometimes you die/ You're still breathing but you just can't tell / Don't hold your breath But the pretty things are going to hell [Post-Chorus] I am a drug, I am a dragon / I am the best jazz you ever seen/ I am the dragon, I am the sky I am the blood at the corner of your eye/ I found the secrets I found gold I find you out before you grow old / I find you out before you grow old [Outro] The pretty things are going to hell / They wore it out but they wore it well / The pretty things are going to hell / They wore it out but they wore it well / The pretty things are going to hell / They wore it out but they wore it well / The pretty things are going to hell / They wore it out but they wore it well / You're still breathing but you don't know why // You're still breathing but you just can't tell / Don't hold your breath / But the pretty things are going to hell
