The CFT Archive has just discovered a full audio recording of the 1971 Tattoo and I think this footage is actually from that year. Noting the Gurkha dancers and boats which feature in the Movietone coverage from 1971 plus announcers statements in the audio. We would be interested in digitising your film and making an attempt to synchronise sound to it.
My dad and I recently discovered this video. He says this is 1970, he was 18 years old - specifically the kilted man standing in front of the men dressed in white in front of the tunnel below the stands at 1:38. Truly amazing to find footage from so long ago!
Hi there, I'm compiling a video for the 2015 Bathgate Creative Places Award application and I'm looking for footage of the procession and other creative events in and around Bathgate. Could you please give me permission to use this video? It would be very much appreciated and would help bring a lot to West Lothian economically, socially and artistically. Please let me know. Thanks.

Remember that year - there was a float with the theme of Allys Tartan Army and If iam not mistaken it was also the day/night of Scotlands first world cup match in Argentina - Think I have a photo somewhere of it
1978. I remember the Scotland team held a victory tour in Glasgow *before* they went to Argentina! After the first match Ally MacLeod said, "Now we know what world cup football is all about." As a Scot based then in London I took some stick!
OMG-such memories especially the pipe bands Boghall Bob Martin Craig Ireland The Benzo, rare futage of Torphichen with David Barnes as PM, big Fergus in 2nd Rank, Boghalls drum fanfare - Superb
