I have seen this appearing in my facebook feed before. You can get starter set which has infantry a at gun and some tanks i think? Funny you mentioned it.
Oh wow, what a great video Leon. Those doggies and handlers would make super non-GW Marauders. AND those German Tanks, how cool are they! Just the thing for the young ones starting out, with rules too! and nothing stopping them from giving it a go with a paint brush. Do they have tracks? that might make an interesting follow up vid... And I recon these could be just to thing for Weird War Two and similar Sci-Fi games. Thanks mate - Ben.
Thanks buddy. Yes they’d be great for a GW chaos army. Really nice sculpts. The tanks don’t have tracks however because of the small scale it doesn’t really make too much difference. When I get a few more bits, some infantry etc I’ll try a game or Rapid Fire with them
@@leont66wargaming31 Thanks for your reply! That´s really good to know. Trying to figure out how to base my Victrix republican roman cavalry for Hail Caesar.
@@leont66wargaming31 Indeed, and a pile of Victrix left unattended tend to grow disturbingly large. After a while it feels like you are drowning in it, heh.
@@leont66wargaming31 are the treb workers essentially just decorations right? They don’t count towards the total wounds of the treb do they? Or does it not matter how many of them are there? I haven’t played an actual game yet I’m still painting
@@leont66wargaming31to be more clear, does the army list allow only 4 crew members? I’m asking because the GW model does have 5? If the crew is just cosmetic then I won’t bother with a 5th worker
Black Powder from warlord games is a good place to start. Not too difficult to get going with. There are quite a few good rules sets out there as well, but I’d say they’re pretty good overall to get you started
@kirkoa1 you could start of quite small. 3x3 and build up as you increase your armies. Also with black powder if you’re using 15mm figures like me , half all the distances. Works better for the smaller scale
Hi mate. On the edges I used a paint brush with Vallejo acrylic paint. But a sharpie should work just as well. For the bases I used Geek Gaming Scenics, ready base mix.
Hi mate. Yeah all good. Just a really bad hobby block. Can’t seem to get motivated at all!? Not trying to force anything in case I get put off even more lol. Hopefully I’ll find my mojo again soon
@leont66wargaming31 ahhhh okay mate glad to hear you are doing okay. Hope you find the motivation again. I get like that sometimes with painting but like you said can't force yourself to do it.
I saw this video months back and i have used exact same basing fo my epic waterloo collection as well and i might add that as i use Age of eagles ruleset and brigade stands vary from 3 to ten+ bases so this method is very cost effective and of course looks great on the tabletop. thanks leon great video.
Cracking work on these Leon, really cool project update, that TV series has much to answer for! Congratulations on Mr. Snuffles and awesome to briefly bump into you at partizan!
They look great! I have some free frames so I have to dip brush into paint and give it a try. I also want to play Fire and Fury Brigade where the bases are 1” wide And Fire and Fury Regimental with the same size bases. Actually they are 2 figures wide and 2 ranks deep so splitting into 2 figures wide would be better but that would give a 3 Bases x 2 ranks deep regiment but it wouldn’t look right so 4 or 5 wide would be best . Have you done a video showing split bases for ACW ?
Thanks mate. I’ve just ordered some Victrix cavalry, I’ll use a few to make some up for the Spartacus army. Lots of head and arm swaps and mix the shields up. Should look good I hope lol.
They look superb Leon,I've just finished some Celtic warriors and have just started some Romans myself from the start collecting set, plus that's a lot of loot from Partizan
Awesome looking Roman’s can’t wait to see more of this project. Mr snuffles looks to be a handful lol I just started looking for a new pup after mine passed . Thank you for the shoutout
Good stuff, Leon! They look the business. I found out about Rome years late and was really bummed out to find it only lasted 2 seasons.I don't understand why Wargames Atlantic shafts the hobbyist without instructions. Looking forward to the standard bearers on horseback! They look super nice. Congrats on the puppy too!
I got Macedonians in this range. I thought about getting the Romans. I'm still battling on with putting together my Boer army, but getting a bit boring lol. Nice figures as ever! Regards Matt
