Thank you for your awesome video! I love that you left your camera on so we can also see beautiful Japan at night with the snow! ❤️ Looking forward to your next videos! 🫶🏻
I saw this video a couple months ago and now I'm planning a autumn 2025 Japan trip! I think it was the first video that made me think about it. Glad to find this again and save it. I will take this line as part of a 2 week trip. Plus I hear they like ramen in the region :) I'm excited to experience Japan's railroads even though I've only taken one line in the midwest US, St. Louis - Chicago, not very interesting but Chicago Union Station is cool. Train travel is so relaxing!
Welcome back to our video. And we are happy to hear that you are planning a Japan trip. This Steam Locomotive is a special limited train, so it's operated only on weekends usually. It is famous for its ramen, which is Kitakata in Fukushima Pref. By the way, I'm going to take Amtrak from Chicago to LA next year. Can't wait for it :)
@@off-to-japan awesome! One of my favorite memories of Chicago Union Station was taking the first Amtrak train of the day. All of the diesel engines were slowly starting up on the platforms - it was an incredible sound! Be ready for lots of friendly people on the train in the lounge spaces - you know how us Americans like to talk 🤪
I’m from the uk. Your videos are fascinating to watch. So there’s no dining car on the ginga? Or vending machines? Do they give you recommendations about what you should bring with you on the ride? I’ve watched other videos where they say bento boxes can be very good, or very bad. No pillow on your bunk? I often buy dried squid from the asian supermarkets here, but sometimes they’re too sweet
Thank you for watching our videos! There is only a free-space car where you can eat and drink, but they don't serve food or any drink, even no vending machine on the train. So you should bring your own food and drink. But there is enough time at some stations to eat ramen at a restaurant nearby or to buy some food and drink at a convenience store. I would say bento boxes are very good for train journeys. There is no pillow on my bunk. Some kinds of dried squid in Japan are a bit sweet.

Es posible que a los extranjeros que no sepan japonés les resulte difícil entender las emisiones en japonés y comunicarse con el personal cuando utilicen el transbordador. Sin embargo, todo el mundo se las arregla para viajar, así que no hay por qué preocuparse.

Enjoyed your fun trip very much. My wife and I recently took the ferry from Shimabara to Kumamoto after going to Unzen Onsen and had a great ride. Will definite try this.
Thank you for making this video😃 I appreciate the commitment and effort you put into it💪 The moment when you go beyond the line of vegetation where there are only inanimate rocks is amazing😃 This has always moved me deeply during mountain trips🥰
