This finale is far much better than those 3 by Callas. The last sentence by Callas sounds without sense; "al altra riva io vo": which riva???: here the dialogue between Giasone and Medea provides a lot of sense! What a pity that Callas cut off this magnificent finale...

Исполнительница партии Танкреда очень понравилась. Голос мягкий, потрясающей красоты тембр, музыкальность - всё в наличии. Но режиссура явно подвела. Спектакль вяленький. За громоздкими комтюмами и декорациями - полная инфантильность и отсутствие драматической динамики.

Oh, the piano just ruins the dramatic effect. Sorry, but it just sounds like any blah recital. This work needs its FULL ORCHESTRATION, not this piddly tiny chamber set. I feel like I'm sitting in a high school auditorium even with this beautifully acted video on screen. And these are no musicians playing, that's painfully obvious.
Не единственная, а как же оперы Вивальди? Генделя? Там главные герои тоже контратеноры. Вообще в эпоху барокко был популярен голос контратенора, но мы сейчас говорим о Россини. Так вот, в какой-то момент оперной традицией стало исполнение мужских персонажей высокого голоса женщинами, так как в наше время очень мало певцов с контратенором.
This is an insult to opera and Cherubini. A disgrace! The singers are utterly bad, with very small, back throated voices, hence why none are projecting and can be heard, especially Creonte. It's true that opera is really dead. The Medea is unbelievably awful. Who's hiring all these people? The acting, which is almost non-existent, is so cringy. The staging is great though but that's about it. Mosquito voices that should never attempt opera. They should just do lieder or church hymns. In one word: HORRENDOUS!
I like the way this guy uses notes. After 40 plus years of nights at the Opera, how come I never heard of him? Was he hiding out in Brooklyn or something?
J'apprécie la mise en scène, l'orchestre, dans une moindre mesure les choeurs (ils n'ont pas la sensibilité des "Catenesi" et il loro Cigno !) Manque les dernières notes dans les grands airs du ténor, de la mezzo (cfr Marilyn Horn), la soprano n'a rien d'une voix bellinienne (cri....) Ce n'est plus du "Belcanto" .... Je retourne à ma version avec Beverly Sills et Gedda, ou à la version avec Patrizia Ciofi. Un petit rappel en passant : Lorenzo, dans la partition est prévu pour une basse et pas un baryton ...... Déjà dans cette version de 2001, le beau chant élégiaque écrit par le Grand Vincenzo Bellini semble bien lointain ! Purtroppo !
