Me and my crew have encountered this a handful of times, We've been trying to figure out "how" it happens as well as "why". I'm not a programmer or playtester of anything, but I enjoy glitchy games, so I'm used to funny videogame logic and spaghetti code. these are just my assumptions; thus far, the only things we know are the _"rules"_ of the eternal flame glitch; when you get hit by kegs or firebombs, the game considers you to be "on fire", so you take some initial damage and then the game says you are _"On fire"_ Splashing yourself once with water will tell the game you are _"wet"_ and stop the damage, *but the fire will try to reignite itself* once you enter and exit the _"wet"_ status again. *going into the ocean and surfacing again will reignite the fire*, because leaving the ocean pauses the _"wet"_ status and sets you back to _"On fire"._ _If on land, splashing yourself once will keep you from taking damage for a while, _*_but splashing yourself again will reignite the fire_* So far the only ways we've gotten into the _"eternal fire"_ status is; being nauseous (getting puked on/eating worms) just before being lit on fire, getting revived on top of a campfire after dying to a keg [two sources of fire damage] -(as the chef of the crew I like to start campfires in entertaining ways)- I'll test it out the next time I play, but if I had to guess, it's because you got lit on fire "twice", when those two firebombs hit you. probably one hit you "the player is on fire" and the boat "the boat is on fire and the player is in that fire" so it checked that you were "on fire" ""twice"" combined with extinguishing yourself with a bucket (entering the "wet" status and instantly going out of it) caused you to be on "eternal fire"
@worldofchap did you hear about the new rod luanch patch? Apparently rare tried patching it but made it worse idk how but apparently people don’t need to even use the cannon anymore
I hate the new blunder it’s so fucking inconsistent Iv been hit by taken no damage and still flung off the boat as if they had a super powered leaf blower or just to be skeeted by double blunderbuss (two people using blunders)
The new knockback was definitely way overtuned, some interesting changes today with being able to brace yourself by holding on to stuff as well as overall balancing. Hopefully it plays a little better
You know one of the reason I love you as a streamer/content creator is I've never heard you call cheats. You understand that some people are just crazy good at the game, yet everyone else has a cry 😢 I respect you for that sir
I only ever call cheats after I've seen something blatant like a teleport, or like in one case I had recently a guy tried to skeet me but accidently locked on to my teammate and hit him instead with aimbot 😂
I've been playing for nearly 2 years now and I've had around 5 galleon encounters but it feels like every other video you release has a galleon in it... Teach me your ways 🙏
I just keep server hopping until I find a promising server. I usually play at peak hours when servers are active in my region, look for reapers and ships near world events. Sometimes I get a grade 5 reaper flag to be able to see the other emissaries on the map too
