Founded in 1902 by the Community of the Sisters of the Church, Perth College provides a learning environment for more than 1,000 students to contribute positively to the community, including more than 100 boarders from across the state and the world.
Perth College runs a co-educational Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten for boys and girls and all-girls education for Pre-Primary to Year 12 students. Education at Perth College is not just what is taught in the classroom, but extends to a broad co-curricular and pastoral care program. Using the science of positive psychology, plus our unique model of self-leadership and wellbeing, we enable students to flourish, stretching them to pursue all of their goals and become the best version of themselves.
Our mantra is ‘be brave, not perfect’ because, by learning from mistakes, students become confident to challenge themselves and take risks. Our graduates are Capable, Courageous and Caring and ready for an ever-changing global world.
What a cool reason to have to move this event for! Very happy you have this opportunity! Now to somehow get in front of the Australian and NZ governments! ;p
Country kids take up the Challenge Twelve girls in Years 5 and 6 travelled from across Western Australia to spend the Australia Day long weekend at Perth College. Staying in the Boarding House, they got a taste of life as a boarder in preparation for their secondary education. Activities across the School grounds included an Art lesson with Si Hummerston, Music with Sofie Cumming, and sport in the gym. The girls loved learning the maze-like layout of the Boarding House and quickly made friends, gaining confidence to stay away from home and undertake new challenges. Head of Boarding, Judy Parker, organised the inaugural PC Challenge to reassure girls and their parents about boarding school and provide a sneak peek into the opportunities available at Perth College.
The magic of the triennial Perth College Fete has been captured on video. Sunday 3 November 2013 was a great day for friendraising and fundraising - a chance for local residents to see the School come alive, parents to get to know fellow mums and dads, and staff to meet their students’ families. Many visitors were impressed by the handiwork of our students and the pride the girls took in serving customers at a variety of stalls, performing on stage, and showing off their School. More than $130,000 was raised, and the funds will be used to benefit all students as well as members of the local community and the Perth Swim Academy in an upgrade of the swimming pool change rooms.
Showcasing our Art department. In the lead-up to this year's K-12 student art exhibition, Conversations, during September, footage was taken of the students at work to showcase their talents and the facilities at their fingertips. The result is a video highlighting the year's work and creativity, originality and skill of our students. Take a look for yourself for an insight into the Creative Arts at Perth College.
World's Greatest Shave The excitement and energy of the World's Greatest Shave at Perth College on Friday 13 September has been captured on film. This short video shows how supportive the entire school was of Georgia Roberts' campaign as well as the worried looks on our faces as the shaving commenced! The generous Perth College family helped to raise more than $28,000 -- thank you for your donations, which benefit the Leukaemia Foundation of WA.
Showing off our Junior School At Perth College, all girls from Kindergarten to Year 6 look forward to two major events in the Term Three calendar - Grandparents’ Day and the Junior School musical. Both are much-loved traditions at Perth College and this year, the students performed Disney’s The Aristocat Kids. The spirit of the occasion was captured in this short video.
