geegeez.co.uk is the UK's brightest and most popular independent horse racing form website, and this is its youtube channel. Bringing you the very best in how to's and race previews, we hope you find something of interest.
As a geegeez subscriber and a placepot player I thought I’d give this a go. I thought I’d do my normal placepot and then do a Tix for the same stake at Goodwood on day 1. In my normal placepot I was out in leg 4, -£40. In my tix I ended up winning £270. Nice one Matt. Keep up the excellent work 👍
Hi Matt, having just become a gold member, this video along with the clear and concise way you delivered it was really helpful and a fantastic introduction. Thank you.
Hi MrLoughneagh, firstly, a big welcome to Geegeez Gold. I hope you'll enjoy what we have to offer. And secondly, thank you for your kind comment which is very much appreciated. 🙏 Matt
Hi I’ve just found this site and took the trial . I’m looking at laying I was wondering if there was any videos on that or you could give me some pointers to the site to check for lays . Thanks
Hi Andrew, if you watch the videos focused on backing, it's perfectly reasonable to look for 'opposite' types for laying. For example, horses poorly drawn and/or held up on tracks that generally favour front runners; and so on. Good luck. Matt
Hi Scott, you wouldn't be able to look at sires based in Ireland; only their 5f progeny that ran in Ireland. To do that, if it's any use, select Country (Ireland), Distance (5f), and Group By (the radio button) Sire. I'd suggest using the parameters to look only at sires that have had, say, 30+ runners
Hi Matt, thanks for sharing, watching it has made me think about going back and doing the same exercise, even though it takes time it seems a like a good way to learn from mistakes and a good way of refining your ability to solve the puzzle as it were. I've been betting for about 12 years but don't really have the time to take too much notice of the race as such; the history, form lines, type of horse needed to win/place etc so don't feel as though I'm retaining lessons of the past. On reflection as I write this my betting approach to the gold cup is probably the same to a grade 6 AW race at lingfield 🤦 I really enjoy looking at the data and forming an opinion but I miss some of the qualitative information, as an example I was particularly interested in your insights about the Albert Bartlett during the video. I must remember that for next year! Also, I'd be interested to know more as to why your bets on the non handicap races were so much more accurate? I presume it's more than just the handicappers doing a marvellous job. Great content, keep up the good work 👍
Hi @stephenberne, really sorry for the slow reply. I think geegeez does a fantastic job of coordinating a lot of information in to a few screens' worth of colour-coded visuals - that makes it possible to know so much about a race really quickly. I built it that way because I, like you, have difficulty retaining all the detail knowledge on the form book. Regarding specifics like the Albert Bartlett, it's just one of those races that very often throws a big price so is worth looking in the long grass; I wouldn't be doing that in most races. On non-handicaps vs handicaps at Cheltenham, the handicaps are virtually impossible for a plethora of reasons!
Hi Stephen. Yes, it's been a long road, but we're now just about there. You can take a peek at tix.bet/app - thanks for your interest Matt p.s. the full site is at tix.bet
In ‘ bet finder ‘ the first time headgear filter would be better if it stated what type of headgear it is rather than having to go through each race to find exactly what headgear is being used
Hi Patrick, the problem with this is that there are some very small sample sizes with 1st time headgear. It's a piece of info that I personally use very sparingly (though I do use it sometimes). Best, Matt
Thanks for an informative video. Not really had the time delve into the mine of information provided on your site this will help me get get more up to speed with things.👍
Hi Lee, thanks for your interest. Yes, slow but steady progress. I don't want to commit to a date after the first debacle, but things are moving forward. Hoping to share an update some time in June, all being well.
Hi Barney. Frustratingly, we've hit a couple of snags on the pool side. It's fully functional our side - and I'm personally using it - but there is an operational challenge still to iron out. That needs resource on their side, so it's a case of close but far away currently, I'm afraid.
Thanks for the feedback, guys. To be honest, it's probably unlikely to be available for Cheltenham Festival. Problem is I haven't written training instructions/manual yet and cannot spend any time troubleshooting issues this week/next... But, if not for the Festival, it'll be ready soon after, I very much hope and expect. It's a really useful tool! ^Matt
Ah, thanks so much for reply. That’s a real shame but understand. I usually do big placepots for each day so would have useful but will do it the old fashioned way!
Fair play Matt, love your attitude to gambling. I always have fun with my racing, some seasons I'm ahead, others I'm behind but overall it nets to basically costing me nothing and gets me through the winter (I'm a Jumps man exclusively). Couple of questions: 1) Do you track each individual bet you make on a spreadsheet? I do and have found it useful in giving me insight into types of races that weren't profitable for me to punt in over time (novice hurdles especially). 2) On a related theme, if memory serves you posted a similar video after Cheltenham last year at which, IIRC, you posted a slight loss. From tracking my bets I came to realise the Festival has been a big lossmaker for me over time, whereas for example Aintree is the opposite. I've noticed (albeit I have only anecdotal evidence here) many pretty smart punters seem to be struggling to come out of Cheltenham ahead. Is that something you've noticed?
Hi Gary Thanks for your kind words and, on your questions: 1. Personally, I don't. I know I'd improve if I did, but I have a lot of action bets (which erode my bottom line but enhance my enjoyment), and I'd be spending too much time entering data if I added them all to the Bet Tracker. Perhaps I'll spend a month doing this religiously in order to get a feel for the good and bad, and how out of line with my perception they are. 2. I think with Cheltenham, or indeed any festival meeting, there are two key considerations. Firstly, pretty much every race is deeply competitive - or there's a very short favourite which can make the race less appealing from a punting perspective: that makes life trickier than normal. And secondly, we're talking about a very small sample of races each year, so it's perfectly easy to go a whole 28 race Festival without hitting a profit. Most handicap winners are double figure prices which demonstrates how difficult it it, and how long between drinks us punters can go. Hope that makes sense and adds some colour to your questions. Matt
I love this Video Matt 👌 It’s true regarding the enjoyment factor… The thing is… it’s an art not a science and that’s what keeps our attention and enthusiasm. Thank you for all that you put into your business and of course the help Geegeez adds to formulating betting opportunities. Let’s all enjoy another year… Cheers Jeff
Hey Matt, whilst I have your attention would it be possible to direct me to how the Jumps/trainers system is shaping up ? I’m really interested as to how it’s turning out.. many thanks Jeff
@@TheGloriousUncertainty If you're referring to TTS, Jeff, I'm afraid it's having an absolutely unprecedented shocker. I've reviewed all of the records of the trainers included, and looked at their place percentages; these are in line with historical performance, give or take, and so I'm pretty satisfied that I'd not have done the research differently. It's just the horses are not winning. The flip side is that, if the research still looks robust (with the caveat that sample sizes are, necessarily, small to tiny), then there might be some value in starting now. A further caveat, however, is, of course, caveat emptor! Matt
You go through all this nonsense to find winners at value prices? Why on earth would anyone bother? All anyone neds to do is look for every Mark Johnston runner priced over 3/1 and throw them all in a win Yankee or E/W Yankee for just 50 pence or a quid. Let's say for argument’s sake, he has 4 runners that day at 10/1 - 9/1- 8/1- 7/1 which is probably pretty close to the average price of his runners in good handicaps. If they all lose, you lose £5.50 OR £11. If he has a double, you'll be winning between £36 and £55 for a 50p win Yankee, and how many doubles does he have? Loads! If the third also wins You'll be looking at between £480 and £650 for a 50p win Yankee, and when he nails the 4 timer (as he's done more than any other trainer) you're picking up 6k for a £5.50 bet. He had the first three at Goodwood about a decade ago, 14/1, 18/1, 12/1, and another running at Ripon that was 7/1... My little 50p E/W Yankee paid out over 20k. And believe it or not, only three weeks later he had another across the card 4 timer that won me just over £10k ... I've had a good few that paid my near on 5k and a couple that won me a couple grand. That's without the trebles and doubles he gets.
Hi my name is Donald Berryman b e r i m a n they spelled it wrong but I need you to call me I have a horse race system that works from the bottom up not most horse racing system works from the top down I found out there's more money to be made from the bottom and there is from the top cuz the top mostly our favorites and you can't make a whole lot of money but working from the bottom¹ on my horse racing system as I told you it works from the bottom up to up to 100,000 I'm looking for people to help me continue my horse race system and I need somebody help me market my horse racing system and my horse race system I have things that nobody ever heard before for instance did you know that Jackie's fly into other tracks and they own horses and when they fly in they Rosary win a lot of times where could you get this information I know or you could get this information and you could find out for yourself that's very important to some people that's going to certain types of tracks you know that you know that horses have different patterns on certain patterns wrote the most to know our horses pass sometimes you can know the horse's future jockeys have pattern as well horses go up and down in class jockeys go up and down in class so they could win they all have their place going up and down you don't find the top jockeys at the bottom or you don't find the bottom jockeys at the top so therefore it's got to be some place in the middle and I think I found where the middle is for a lot of different jockeys my horse race system picks four of them out of 12 horses and gives you the opportunity to pick one of those horses to win my system has a point system to the whole thing so it's a lot easier to read checking out other people's horse race systems proves that my horse racing system works as well as theirs every horse race system wins at certain times cuz they still wouldn't be out there selling their thing after a while people get the idea that it's not working I'm able to take some of their ideas and put it into my horse race system to make it in work better yet my horse race systems has a flyer to put into bars and other places that that they could see that they could win if they play the horses I have them play the horses for a couple weeks and just putting they'll fix them to pick out windows for about 2 or 3 weeks without reading my horse system then they find out they can't win as much as they want to because they don't know what's going on at the track everything at the track goes around and around it's a $60 value that I'm putting on and I tell them how they can win on horse racing I give them four or five ways they could win and what to watch out for when they start winning then they'll want to buy into my horse race system they could have they could have fun drinking at the bars and when and talk where I live in North Carolina they don't allow you to bet on the internet some of my information that I have people would want to know for instance is the mafia still out there doing things with the horses the answer is yes they would want to know if there were ever was cheating the answer is yes but it doesn't happen today because it's built into the system for instance if you had a horse that you want to put in the race you figure what type of jockey the higher the jockey the more money it will cost you so they don't know right then there what type of horses is and the jockey would know all this information as well all the jockeys are trying to follow the one in front of him or the one way ahead of them the secret of the jockeys is the top jockey does things with the camera can't pick them up so the next every time he drives that horse he makes a record in his mind of how he's going to require his mind of how he's going to get back to the barn and put he tried this he tried that and tried this at different place with the cameras can't pick them up so when the jockeys try to follow each other they can't do it because the top jockey's doing it in a certain place at the camera's can't pick up so therefore the jockeys never get ahead of the rest of jockeys because horses like kids if you don't get the horses attention the horse is not going to listen to you back in the old days the jockeys got together when they talk and they rig things up today they don't have to rig things up because it's already set up for them to know what to do what type of horse it is they look at the records as well as people do to figure out what horse they going to be driving and no something about that horse before they drive that horse that helps them determine what kind of things they going to train the horse to listen I asked a jockey club one time they answer all the questions I had three questions to answer them though the one question they couldn't answer me was this does the jockey get paid for the fourth position and the answer is yes but they didn't say this question at all they just said this is you questions that you told me and they left that one out you think about this does 40 different jockeys and a horse race how are they going to get paid if they not in the money they get in the money on the triples the doubles and all the cells stuff vanilla's course I don't have all the answers I don't need all the answers I have enough for horse system where people could pay me for this information forgive me if I repeat myself but the other horse racing system they all work to a degree I tell the people up front why they can't win sometimes one of the reasons is the horse could be sick the jockey could be sick the course could have a bad day just like people but tell him if they like that horse but I'm the next couple times out and watch what happens this could be a friction or a fact if you own a horse race track where would you invest your money you will invest it most likely and raising horses so so how does the track make money on this well they revite them in they give them a date they can bring their horses down from that Barn to run and when they do run they really win this doesn't happen all the time but it wins enough I kept track of it nothing happens on a daily thing everything that I'm talking about happens every two or three weeks something in this line will happen but you have to know when it's going to happen you have to be at the track to know certain things will happen for instance they don't tell you on the internet or TV that the horses have no jockey chains or blinders on the horse or new equipment changes I always won from this position it doesn't happen all the time but happens quite a bit they tell you the last 5 minutes before the race that this horse is going through this change and it makes a difference most of the people already bought their tickets and they all half as drunk and then that horse wins and so they go on with the next race and they forget what was said information like this is really affectable if you want to win at the track so my goal is having people at the track giving out free information like I do the bar is and then they'll want to buy my horse racing system I just want to let you know that I know some things that our people don't and all people don't pay attention there's a few people out there giving handicapped tips but more and more the jockey clubs are taking over and this information is not available like it used to be in the old times well I hope you could help me I'm looking for a few people couple people to help me finish this information off and I need marketing experience to get it out there if you share this please don't share with a lot of people because that will say is this baloney because I don't want to this information to get out or they'll steal the idea and use it on there horse racing system I'm going to give you my phone number I want you to call me twice if I don't pick up the phone the first time call me right back and then I'll give you a call later on today cuz I know it's important and I can't keep track of the robocalls I'm getting my name is Don O'Donnell Berryman b e r i m a n that keeps spelling it wrong I'm using the microphone too spell my phone number is 704-901-6705 I live in the Charlotte area you not allowed to bet horses in this area I grew up with my uncle teaching me about the horse racing everybody has a trick to a trade in the horse racing business it's always good to learn other people's tricks and trade I said to myself there's got to be more tricks and trades to this horse racing so I took a few years off and I thought about it and took me two years to write this horse racing system because I have to go back in my mind to see what was really going on and what I found what was going on was by the old horse racing system the highway had something that other horse racing systems don't and some of those horse racing systems has stuff that I don't have that I could use on mine to make it even better yet thank you for taking your time thank you for helping me out I'm looking forward forward to your call thank you
It did, Cathal! I'm waiting on a few real shorties today to get paid out at 9/1 on her (including the acca bonus at 365). Still time for a massive shock to derail things, but so far so good!! 🤞
As much as I appreciate the work that's gone into this, the video's resolution is set extremely low. It's very hard viewing. Is there a way to watch a higher res video?
