Yes, a Common Guillemot or Common Murre. This Auk is more adorable than any plush toy I've ever seen! Last weekend it even sat calmly through a live music concert at the boat dock. I need to go back this weekend and see if it's still there.
To my ear definitely Swainson's Thrush! This was filmed in late June and they are at their most melodious and vocal here on Whidbey Island at that time of year. I just wish they weren't so darned secretive with their appearances...or maybe it's better that way idk ;-) Cheers, Declan btw I'll be starting a couple new channels... Of the animals named for George Steller, this Steller's Jay manages to somehow escape the dark curse attached to the ill-fated naturalist, and thrives today west of the Rocky Mountains with an endearing and raucous bravado! Cheers and happy birding, Declan 🤗🐦🦉
One tripod is piggybacked on another with the aid of duct tape. I wouldn't normally do this but the configuration of the feeder with its squirrel proofing required a good height to attain eye level with the birds. Mind you, I like squirrels well enough, I think they're adorable...on the ground 😊
I love this time of year!!! One of the robins that frequent my feeders was killed by a neighborhood cat this morning ( underneath my feeder) I was so devastated. She usually got peanuts and red grapes from me. 😢
That's terrible, so sorry to hear that 😢 I really love robins, I think they're the hardest working birds in showbiz! One of 'em built a nest nearby on the side of a storage shed, I'll try to get a little vid for you if they're still there 🐣🐣
I didn't know this, thanks for bringing it to my attention! Turns out the female Cuckoo decides what color the egg will be and it can indeed lay blue eggs to match the eggs of the host nest! Brilliant 👌🥚💙 Cheers, Declan 🦉

HERMOSA AVE ‘Dive-Bombing' Crows Are Attacking People in Hermosa Beach A nearby hotel hired a professional falconer to scare away the crows with a trained hawk twice a week... Unfortunately the crows here in Washington State aren't the least bit scared of the slow and peaceful Barred Owl, quite the opposite I'm afraid, as I've seen the demise of these beautiful owls at the hands of crows. 🦉

They are very similar aren't they? Even more than continents, body and bill size, what distinguishes the two for me are the chestnut color thighs of the Great Blue. I'd love to study one of your Greys some day! Cheers, Declan 🐦🤗🦉
