I had a 1970 Newport that was heavily modified. It had a 300 grill, and somehow it had absolutely no chrome on it. The rear end bumper was blacked out. The paint was old school black lacquer. Set up was a 383 magnum with the 727 torque flight, manifolds had been changed out for headers. There was a Holley 750 4 barrel on it. Gas was about a dollar a gallon at the time. That car got me into so much trouble. I would get pulled over all the time. However, the cops would invariably ask me the year and what was under the hood. I remember one guy giving me a warning and then asking with a straight face if I wouldn't mind lighting it up before he left. I had a set of 50 series slicks on the rear at the time so I had to oblige. Man I miss that car.
So beautiful. When I was a kid and didn't know anything about cars I owned a green '58 Sixty Special for about 6 months. AC didn't work and I once had to stop short in traffic and the car scared the crap out of me taking forever to stop! A garage failed it for inspection and said the frame was cracked, so I sold it for $100. Oh well, now I drive a Toyota Yaris, lol.
Beautiful classic car. I had a 1970 Chrysler One of the most comfortable cars I ever owned. Only thing is, with that type of air cleaner you are drawing hot air from with the engine compartment. Air drawn from the outside is cooler and much more efficient that hot air from the engine compartment.

That is cool AF! I used to have a 66 , but it had SS emblems on it, lol everyone would be like WTF they made a SS wagon? I was like yep. It had a 283 with a turboglide trans, and I ended up putting in a fresh 355 stroker, but I totaled it on my birthday... 😢 I took the motor out and put it in a 70 Monte Carlo that I got for 500 bucks! I still miss the hell out of the wagon!
I have the same truck ,but it is a short bed.mine is tan where your is but my dark color is blue . I have two square bodies, the other is all blue.they both had 305s in them, now have 350 crate motors. I love these old trucks!
My Father had a 1971 Chrysler Imperial LeBaron coupe that had the 440 V8 and a 727 TorqueFlite transmission. I drove it to high school when I was 17 years old. That engine sound was music to my ears!
@@weskirkland5850 You're right,I not bashing the square bodies, and the 3/4 tons are nice trucks, all I was trying to point out is the quality could have been better.
