The records here presented on this Channel are all original 78 rpm shellacs, most of them in a very good condition ! It has taken me decades to collect them from fleamarkets and secondhand-stores all over Europe, and even in New York, America . Going to such places means getting up very early, often in bad weather, which was really hard work !
I NEVER bought, and still never buy records easily available on auctions - saleslists or Ebay !!
Gitta Alpár was a virtuosic coloratura soprano, and as was to be expected, she is performing this famous Mozart aria as if she did it without the slightest effort. Stunning!
This 1935 tune is a particularly catchy, rhythmical foxtrot full of energy, and Erich Börschel is performing it with verve. Thank you very much for presenting it here!
The Roaring 20s are so obvious in this lively, sparkling performance featuring a superb vocal by Franklyn Baur and a highly skillful accompaniment by the versatile Ben Selvin. I love this! Thank you so much for sharing :-)
My heart for the Artists / instruments/ of this Orchestra - it is great! The composition delights me. I feel some optimism - in your work - again. Thank you for IT! My greetings to You. And...dziękuję. /Ah,..Katja../
@@parlophonman Da hast Du recht, lieber Daniel… time flies! 🌞🎵🎶🎵🎶🎶🎶🎵🎶🌞
One of my favorite melodies of those times, nicely played , really in the vivid style of the second half of 1920;s ! Later renditions were usually slower... Here they perfectly knew what to do with the music. I like your visual style of presentation, too, Daniel !
You are absolutely right, the foxtrot tempo at which this well-known song is played is surprisingly smooth! Thank you also for your visual appreciation, Jurek !
Thank you so much for presenting the present, extremely rare recordings by this amazing Dutch artist: she definitely was a stunning, versatile talent, capable of creating many different atmospheres and styles. She had a most enjoyable soprano voice as well. Moreover i second the unidentified reviewer's assessment she had an 'excellent and refined diction'. These performances are quite fascinating, and I thoroughly enjoyed them!
It's a pity that Stella Fontaine is a totally forgotten talented Dutch artist today, even here in this video there is hardly any attention for her skills... but in any case, thank you very much Patrick, for your always appreciated reaction!
In times when societal perception of gender gradually is getting more fluid, this song couldn't be more up-to date :-) No matter which version, Kurt Hart(d)wig appears to be an outstanding vocalist in this lively and witty song, displaying an energetic albeit smooth and polished style. Thank you very much for sharing!
I remember this fact today very well, although more than ten years have passed: you singing a whole piece of that song, happy and full of vigour... on the occasion of some other recordings. Hope, the mood is still on when you hear it again, Daniel, like now..!
I believe this is the very first Harald Paulsen performance I have ever heard. Although he rather was an actor and director, he appears to be a very good vocalist. As for Hans Bund, he was known for his virtuosic arrangements and renditions, and this is no exception: so dynamic and lively :-) Thank you so much for sharing this (probably) very rare recording!
The title may well be Jammerklacht, but I am certainly not going to lament :-) This performance is wonderfully sensitive and refined, as well as pretty virtuosic. Thank you so much for sharing this rare gem!
These famous musicians were way ahead of their time with their kind of music, certainly for the Dutch audience in those years! Thanks for your nice comment!
within a heat wave that is falling on us I was waiting for a less hot day, which came, to listen to this hot music. Thank you for all the classics involved in this double-show: a composer and performers. They are top of the jazz world and records may prove it. We have two different approaches: from overseas and continental and such are differences in their climate ! Btw. heats again here from tomorrow. - !
Two stellar jazz combos, and as was to be expected, both are fabulously virtuosic and hot, but also polished and refined. Thank you so much for sharing these two gems!
A British and two German visions on a famous pasodoble, and I have to say all are outstanding! The outsider here is Paul Morgan, with his unexpected and funny declamation in Valenciafieber :-) I thoroughly enjoyed both dance band versions, although the Savoy Havana Band appeared to be the most polished and refined version... Thank you very much for sharing!
I completely agree with you, the "Savoy Havana Band" makes an impressive version of it because of the smooth arrangement! Thank You as always for your comments!
Allerlei GUTES vom Hirsch…
Famous melodies, some humor - I think..... "Ich küsse Ihre Hand, Madame.." /6:23, the other/ Thank you for this recording! I have read your information. Thank you.
Nice that you recognized some of the melodies Gabi, Fritz Hirsch and his Operetta company were very popular in Holland in the thirties, but they have been forgotten nowadays ...
It is so utterly sad and painful that Fritz Hirsch's complete family was to die in the concentration camps. Once more, a highly talented artist was lost due to the war atrocities. Thank you so much for presenting this brilliant showcase of the operetta company's successful productons!
Fritz Hirsch and his Operetta company were a household name in Holland at the time, but unfortunately his name no longer means anything to the current generation...
Thank you for this double recording ! As well as for all the story of Fritz Hirsch - some parts of this production are really well known. The sound of this recording is very good: so distinctive and so clear ! Bravo. Btw. had he anything in common with a well known Berliner musician, Hugo Hirsch ?
My comment already vanished... Thank you so much for sharing this recording and for the interesting notes about this talented and versatile artist! Ivan Petrovich (né Svetislav Petrović) was a talented singer and violinist and even was an accomplished athlete, who participated as a swimmer at the 1912 Summer Olympics in Stockholm. It is a pity that this skilled artist is relatively forgotten today. It is a delight as well to hear him in the very rarely heard operetta 'Der Orlow'.
Ivan Petrovich Platte ?? You must be lucky, Daniel. And we are lucky and happy thanks to that fact. Such a long and great span of the Kariere, so many contracts, films, countries and partners, Pola Negri included. Very nice song, delicate and intimite. Thank you.
Leander's Swedish recordings have always been my favourites since I consider them to be the freshest and most natural ones in atmosphere and text projection. I thoroughly enjoyed this sparkling and energetic performance, thanks a lot for sharing!
Thank you so much for your outstanding notes about this amazing coloratura soprano! She had an exceptional and versatile career. This recording is even more fascinating since it features a virtuosic composition by the - sadly - largely forgotten Bohemian composer Heinrich Proch. Thank you so much for sharing this sparkling, very demanding performance!
Thank you for appreciating this beautiful voice, dear Gabi, could you follow the lyrics of this song because you speak Italian? Greetings and best wishes!
@@parlophonman It`s difficult for me because I am catching few words but - I found the Italian lyrics + Google Translator and = the English lyrics of the song: " Oh, come back my love My tender love Give a break to the pains Of my poor heart For you this heart No longer has peace Only with you my love Blessed will it be...." ..My Dear Daniel - that is as always - love, love and sometimes.. pain.. I think.. Greetings to You! Thank you!
@@myfascinations The lyrics are truly beautiful. Dear Gabi, thank you for taking the time to translate them.! ( and there is no love without tears ...)
@@parlophonman Oh, it was a pleasure for me, Dear Daniel, but it isn`t my merit. I have found (only) the Italian lyrics. You know. I am glad that You like these words.. My greetings to You, too!
Thank you very much for sharing these two excellent versions of this lovely, quintessentially German song :-) Irene Ambrus' sparkling coloratura soprano voice is brilliant, and so is consistently reliable, highly skilled Otto Dobrindt, who never dissapoints. Paul O'Montis may be a little less captivating in his own rendition of this tune, but of course Ambrus was so very refreshing and bright here that the comparison might be bit unfair :-) No matter how, O'Montis is very good as well in this performance by an uncredited studio band. I did find though that the latter orchestra was led by Carl Woitschach.
What a special discovery that Carl Woitschach and his orchestra accompanied Paul O'Montis here and also exceptional that his name is not mentioned on the record label... Thank you for your research, it is much appreciated Patrick! Regards !
Two great, outstanding artists of the past - in German mode. Really, a double pleasure and a special historical and artistic value. Dziękuję ! Btw. - what adv. photos of those artists, rarity !
Advertising photos of artists from this period are unfortunately a rarity to find, but sometimes you make a discovery on the internet! Thank you Jurku!
A very beautiful song and two wondetful versions!! I can't decide which one I like better - the German version in Tango style or the British Foxtrot version..... Both are great, virtuos played and sung!! 🎤🎶👍 Thank you so much for sharing these musical gems, dear Daniel! 🤗 Best wishes and have a nice weekend! 🍀🌷🌼🌸
Thank you for your visit and kind appreciation Julian! Due to circumstances I often fail to answer immediately, but I try not to forget! Liebe Grüße von Daniel .
