Several years ago, I saw the movie Cast Away and noticed that the girl in the truck (at the crossroads at the end of the movie) looked familiar. I thought she looked like Lari White, so I searched and checked. I was right. I was saddened to learn that Lari had died. What a loss. She was so pretty and was a talented singer.
Tears streaming down my face as I type this. This is my all-time favorite song. I lost my 25 month old daughter in surgery in 1995 and this song reminds me of where she is now.

Lo what a sensational song. Lari literally puts most Super Model's to shame. This guy has a tremendous voice for a Football player. Why do I not remember this video? Lari should have had allot more music videos than she did. There were no videos for either "Ready Willing and Able" and :Stepping Stone" two of her bigger hit singles, but with videos they could have been much bigger. I'm desperately trying to get this terrific song featured on these "First Time Reacted too" channels that are all over RU-vid. Every one of her songs and recordings need and deserve allot more comments. We have to make sure she is discovered by the younger generation. Lari was an incredible artist. For my money, one of the best female voices ever in Country Music, and who exactly was any more Beautiful? I can't think of anybody. She takes your breath away in this video, in every video. This song is just amazing. I wish there was a video for Lari and Toby Keith "Only God Could Stop Me Loving You". Let's get these songs on the reaction channels please. We need to band together to get this done. 11 comments on this awesome video is pitiably absurd. Should be thousands to say the very least. This song is damn near as good as "Helping Me Get Over You". The video to which has over 11 million views on RU-vid. I just don't get it. Let's get this song and video allot more attention. Really a forgotten and overlooked duet and video. Spectacular.
I sure wish that all the people here who claim to be big Lari White fans would respond too, leave allot more comments to her other songs and videos here on RU-vid. Honestly, all of them have a very disappointing lack of views and comments. I'm trying to get her songs reacted to more on these "First Time Hearting" channels that are all over RU-vid. Same with the songs of Holly Dunn and Kelly Willis. Can't believe that nobody has reacted to what is probably Lari's signature song yet "Lead Me Not". Without a video "Stepping Stone" from 1998 which was a bigger hit chart wise then "Helping Me Get Over You" although both should have at least made Top 5, seems to be all but forgotten. Very few views and comments on RU-vid. I hope this changes.

I'm going to try and link another video. A year before "Helping Me Get Over You" Lari recorded a duet with this guy named Esera Tuaolo. He's great. Man, this video should have 11 million views too. This shit is real!! Moving on with someone else is in and out! It doesn't mean the same, but it does help. It's sad for the other person that doesn't know they are just there to fill a hole in your heart that was left by someone else. It's wrong, but it's the only way to go on yourself.
@@maryann7941 Thanks for the Heart. I sure wish that Lari had more music videos. Several of her singles didn't have one, and "Wild At Heart" was pulled from circulation after that absurd controversy. But you can still find that Video on RU-vid elsewhere. It needs and deserves allot more views and comments as well. All of her songs and videos do Doesn't matter if it was a single or not. Many of my favorite songs of Lari's were never singles. U wish that they had been.
I always felt, had hoped that Lari and her Husband Chuck Cannon might come out with an album as a duo in the early 2000's and call themselves "White Cannon". At that point Lari might have finally got the recognition she just deserved. Alas, it never happened. She could have and should have been much bigger. She was poorly managed and very poorly promoted by both RCA and later Lyric Street. Definitely hurt by a lack of Music videos. Why they wouldn't want to show off this beautiful, amazing woman is beyond me? Two of her bigger songs "Ready Willing and Able" and "Stepping Stone" had no music videos. Both stalled out just shy of the Top 10, but they probably would have made Top 10 if not Top 5 if there had been videos to push them.
As far as I'm concerned Lari was the most beautiful woman in Country Music in the 90's.Yeah, I was a big fan of Shania Twain I still am, but it was Lari who stole my heart the first time I saw her on Nashville Now in 1993. I wish I could find that episode. In my opinion with the right management and record label support she could have been about as big as anybody. As a live performer she was very dynamic. Lari could really stir and audience live. Radio never gave her much of a push at all. It was frustrating hearing her songs stuck in a light rotation especially when the song didn't have a video Two of her songs that just missed the Top 10 "Ready Willing And Able" and "Stepping Stone" had no Music videos. Given a video to push them both those songs probably could have cracked the Top 10 easy, if not the Top 5. Practically nobody had a better voice. As she went on to be a voice coach and taught many other artists how to sing, that should be indisputable. I am desperate for a new generation to discover this lady. She had so many awesome songs that were never released as singles. Including another duet with Toby Keith called "Only God Could Stop Me Loving You". That might have been a song of the year. I'd like to see a collection an anthology of her complete Nashville recordings released.
