Excellent explanation I enjoyed this valuable discussion very much! Were the original strings no longer usable? I'm just curious to know when one can determine it's time for new strings.
Iron eventually becomes brittle, and the original bass strings on Chopin's last Pleyel were both dull sounding and prone to breaking. So a German firm made replicas, and like got better
Something about the extreme light and delicate nature of the Stein action in comparison to Walter. With its huge sonority, it is extremely satisfying and a joy to play.
I've never heard this before. The instrument looks like a harpsichord but sounds between piano harpsichord. This must be very expensive. The maestro does it so well 😅
Your father would be so incredibly proud of you, but you already know that. Such a wonderful gift he passed on to you. I have loved these videos for years. I am always surprised by how modern these superb replica pianos actually sound. Thank you for posting this short.
