Yes!!!!!!!!!! I don't know why so many minimalism videos seem so colorless, in study videos too, but honestly, in my desk, I wrapped 3 boxes with gift wrapping paper with a lot of pretty drawings and a lot of pink, and I wrapped my table (my desk is a table) with adhesive paper for furniture, the one with the darkest shade of brown they had, and I have for storage a black box with snowflakes, and a plastic box with a pink handle, and I love the colors, and the contrast of colors, and when my desk was a mess I applied what I read in Marie Kondo books, and I still preferred my desk to look colorful, because it gave me joy
Hey Jera! I just thought about this video again recently, and wondered what you feel about this set up now? I think you have changed a lot in terms of what you're sleeping on, but I wondered what made you change. I recently got a japanese futon and not sure if I actually like it, and have been considering one of these types of mats instead- also even easier to move (futon is bulky and heavy). I know you might not still be in this headspace, but was curious, reflecting back....?
@@MinimallyMichele I do miss this setup sometimes, I definitely feel like I could a kept that mat but I got into a relationship and ultimately needed to have a bed that was for both of us. I have a non toxic futon as well but I do agree they are so heavy. I also don't think I get the best sleep on them all the time, sometimes perfect sometimes not so much but that's any bed really. I actually currently sleep in a hammock on a hammock stand and I find it to be the most comfortable thing. It also doubles as a seat or like you can swing yourself in it which is really nice. It also packs up so if I wanted to take it somewhere it's totally possible and it was like $160 on Amazon I think. I also use a neck pillow like one for planes instead of a regular pillow and it really helps with neck support and I now prefer it over any other type of pillow. The hammock on the stand is super easy to move around, technically you could store it away if you needed to and it's pretty affordable. I do still have the futon and I nap on it sometimes but it's definitely not my main sleep spot. Hope that helps and offers a possible new solution for ya.
@@JeraSky Ah nice! They don't even make that pad anymore at REI! I tried a hammock for a bit but didn't seem to be able to get to sleep without the feeling of something 'pushing up against me.' I love the idea though. Awesome it's working for you- to be able get down with those little cocoons. Maybe one day the plain old floor with a blanket will be attainable- I haven't seemed to get there even on a very long game so far. Thanks for your thoughts! I too seem to like just a rolled up something under my neck for a pillow these days, but that's a good idea with the plane pillow- will experiment with that...continuing to tinker...
Those are WATER MONITOR LIZARDS, not Komodo Dragons! The water monitor lizards are common in Bangkok and harmless if you leave them alone. You're more likely to be whipped by their tails than bitten.
What kind of music knowledge help in composig songs? Im just perplexed how composers like you choose the notes and stuff thaf just make sense and sounds good together
If u need to say something what u could not say publicly, try to transfer that feeling trough chords. There is a reason why you like the taste of your own music and usually it resonates with your emotions.
Using my food handlers liscense I sneak 6 corndogs into buffets across the country. I'm on a mission to spread kindness with corndogs! I place the corndogs in my jacket pockets, enter the buffet amd head for the fried food section, I place the corndogs sneakily on a tray and then sit back and watch as other patrons of the buffet enjoy eating my corndogs thinking they came from the buffet and not my jacket pockets.
Jera I know you are into something else these days but I want you to know I Started binge watching some of your old minimalist vids last night. I can relate since although I am downsizing, I as an Artist by nature produce STUFF so it is challenging balancing that with NON-STUFF. any thoughts on that?
well your ultimate goal of why you're getting rid of things is what's most important because it will guide you along what's best for you. for example if you want to backpack and travel you're going to have different goals than someone who is maybe creating a forever home or something, the backpacker may opt for a storage unit while the other not so much. so if you're asking in regards to the "stuff" or art pieces you have made, there is a lot of options just depends on what your goal is, if its money, listing and selling things on ebay/etsy/craiglist/facebook marketplace/tik tok/instagram. if you're not as interested in where it ends up you can also list it for free, leave it places in the town you're in for people to find, or even barter with it if you're looking for other things. if you want to keep it decorating your walls like a maximalist interior decor could be the solution because even though its a lot of stuff it feels like less if it is intentionally put into a room and decorated. i think artists should always keep creating because if you feel that need to create you're supposed to, art is a very important part of the world. so a certain amount of stuff may be necessary for your creative self and that's okay. all those videos i made and the experiment i ran on my life was to be able to travel more learn more about myself, figure out what i really wanted to do and it helped all that. nowadays i have a lot more things but i had to adapt to living inside not traveling as much pandemic affected world. i don't know if that helps but if you need me to clarify or anything if i didn't answer your question let me know.
