Hey reefers!
Thanks for swimming by. I'm Jade & i created my channel to document my journey in the reefing hobby & to help my fellow fish people out with tips & how to's

I've been a fish mum for over 22 years.
Just over 6 years ago i decided to take the plunge & dive into saltwater!
I'm so glad i did!. I used to keep a written diary of the things i did with my tanks but this time i wanted something better which is what brought me to you guys here on RU-vid.

I would love to help, educate & inspire all those new comers to the hobby & meet like minded fish people where we can talk all things reefing.
I hope you come with me on my salty journey & join my fish family 😁🧜🏽‍♀️

To keep up to date with all goings on come join me on insta! 👇🏼

I'm feeding my pods tetraselmus which is much lighter than your phyto. I find I have to add phyto frequently and in fairly large amounts. How often do your cultures lighten up and need more phyto?

I did do another video showing I had a boom in pod populations. So the awnser is yes it did work and they did breed regularly. Hope that helped

Not sure if you answered this or not, but if you have algae with the pods in the culture would you still need to do water changes? Or at least a lot less often?

Hi! I’m aware that most (if not all) anemones can eat fish, so besides clownfish…what other fish can you have in a tank with them? Will those fish just naturally know and avoid the anemone? How does that work?
@TheSaltyLife
@TheSaltyLife Год назад
You can have most fish with anemones they soon realise they can't go near it when they accidently brush into it and it stings them. The only fish that are a big no no. Are fish like coral gobies, dragonets and other slow swimming fish that like to settle on things. Saying that I had a bi colour blenny and he never went near. But yeah avoid coral gobies and dragonets and research compatability of every fish you buy 😊

Hello, I just got my first bubble tip today. It’s been in the tank for a few hours now and after being retracted for a bit, it is now fully puffed out and accepted some food a bit ago. How long after you introduced your nem did it decide to move?
@TheSaltyLife
@TheSaltyLife Год назад
Hey 👋🏼 congrats on the new bubble tip! So when I had bubble tips I found it stayed put for about a month and then after that it started going for evening jogs around the rock 😄 once it started moving it didn't stop..it kept moving.. then It eventually started becoming a nuisance touching all my corals and when it started splitting and I had multiple anemones on the move.. I removed off of the rockwork and gave them to my LFS. 😊

Think this is enough to sustain a 90 gallon (340 litre) tank?
@TheSaltyLife
@TheSaltyLife 2 года назад
If you could keep the culture going with regular harvests, maybe.. but o would probably run two for a tank that size.. and depending what fish you own.. eg if you have fish that primarily eat pods like dragonettes then I would probs run two or 3 of these.

hi . fyi if you put a small light near the top {best done in a dark room} you can harvest with a dropper all the n1+ stage naps . if you only scoop your actually throwing out 2 weeks worth of young which is seriously hitting your growth rates.
